Hand guns and rifle sales are spiking in Austria, with some shops reporting they are running out of stocks of shotguns, since no license is needed to buy them.
“Yes, I can confirm, the demand in Austria for weapons is growing. My revenue doubled in September. And in October it has doubled again, and we are still in October,” a gun shop owner told RT.
Obtaining a firearms purchase license in Austria involves passing special courses concerning basic handling and knowledge of weapons. The gun shop owner confirmed to RT that the number of people taking the gun handling courses has increased tremendously.
“In the past, I had one appointment a week for ‘weapon license training’ with one or two people. Now I have a fixed second event, with 6 to 10 people attending,” the gun dealer said.
“Most of the people who came to me in the last week for a consultation or to buy a weapon, are telling me, and I always ask them, that the reason for buying is the ‘current situation’ in Austria,” the man told RT.
The “current situation” in this context is the influx of refugees entering Austria.
Up to 8,000 migrants cross the border every day, with authorities saying numbers could soon rise to 12,000. Austrians seem to be getting nervous. They have bought 70,000 guns this year alone, according to police. In a country with an estimated population of 8.5 million, there are currently about 900,000 privately owned guns.
In the face of the migrant crisis, the country's government seems to be at a loss at how to tackle the problem with asylum seekers.
Just two months ago Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann was an outspoken critic of Hungary's initiative to erect fences on its border, saying at the time it would solve nothing.
“To think that you can solve something with a fence… I believe this is wrong,” Faymann said.
Fast forward to the end of October and the chancellor announces the start of special construction measures, at Austria’s border with Slovenia.
The move triggered a negative reaction from the EU. After a phone call with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, the two officials issued a joint statement: “The president and the chancellor repeated their common position that fences have no place in Europe.”
Austria’s Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner said on Wednesday that the decision about a fence “is about ensuring an orderly, controlled entry into our country, not about shutting down the border," the Local cited the minister as saying to public broadcaster Ö1.
“Also, a fence has a gate,” she added.
Austrian activists are staging anti-refugee demonstrations at the Slovenian border, demanding national authorities tackle the problem.
Germany is unhappy with Austria for allowing refugees through their common border after dark.
As we put it a few days ago while mocking Saudi Arabia’s attitude toward “collateral damage” from its bombing runs in Yemen, “you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.” Well, over at Deutsche Bank, John Cryan has been busy crushing whole cartons worth.
From sweeping job cuts, to reorganizations, to eliminating the dividend, Cryan has been a veritable wrecking ball since taking the helm from co-CEOs Anshu Jain (who is gone) and Jürgen Fitschen (who is leaving).
Just yesterday, Europe’s largest bank announced that the dividend would be scrapped as part of “Strategy 2020.” Here are some other key points from Cryan’s “plan”:
CET 1 ratio: at least 12.5% from the end of 2018
Leverage ratio: at least 4.5% at the end of 2018 and at least 5.0% at the end of 2020
Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE): greater than 10% by 2018
Adjusted Costs (total noninterest expenses excluding restructuring and severance, litigation, impairment of goodwill and intangibles and policyholder benefits and claims) of less than EUR 22.0 billion by 2018
Cost/income ratio (CIR) of approximately 70% in 2018 and of approximately 65% in 2020
Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) (excluding regulatory inflation following regulatory changes expected to be at least EUR 100 billion by 2019/2020) of approximately EUR 320 billion at the end of 2018 and of approximately EUR 310 billion at the end of 2020.
Well, the hits just kept coming on Thursday as Deutsche Bank made good on a promiseto write down billions in assets in its investment bank and retail- and private-banking operations. The Q3 loss: €6 billion.
That’s a record, and Cryan understandably described it as “highly disappointing.” The pain was largely attributable to “impairments of goodwill and other intangibles,” or, put differently, “marking things to reality.’” As a reminder, here's what DB said earlier this month:
An impairment of all goodwill and certain intangibles in Corporate Banking & Securities (CB&S) and Private & Business Clients (PBC) of approximately EUR 5.8 billion. This is largely driven by the impact of expected higher regulatory capital requirements on the measurement of the value of these segments as well as current expectations regarding the disposal of Postbank.
And here's what the writedown looks like in the context of previous quarterly results:
So yeah, nothing good about that. Other highlights from the report: investment banking revenues were marginally higher Y/Y with fixed income holding up. Overall revenues were down 7%. Here are Goldman's summary bullets:
FX moves aside, (i) FICC down -25% q/q and up +20% y/y – the y/y results falls from +20% to +5% y/y if we adjust for CVA gains, CVA methodology changes and FVA impact; (ii) equities fell 20% y/y (and 40% q/q); (iii) advisory -8% y/y. All-in, this is a solid result y/y, compared to reported averages thus far helped by (1) the weak Euro and (2) low base effect. We await company clarification on the composition of the FICC result.
IB revenues up +3% y/y, with the US$ strength (~+14% vs € y/y) contributing substantially.
Divisional PBT, on an underlying basis: (1) CB&S --45% y/y; (2) GTB +15% y/y; (3) PBC: 53%y/y ; (4) AWM:-15% y/y (5) non-core unit lost €278 mn headline
B3 CET1 ratio up 10bps to 11.5%, this contrasts to the 11% the company expected as of October 7. This discrepancy is driven by the reversal of previous dividend accruals in line with the announced elimination of the dividend.
Stated TBVPS fell 1%, to €38.99 putting the stock on 0.7x P/TB.
And now for the fun stuff. As part of the "new" strategy (which Morgan Stanley thinks looks a lot like the "old" strategy), the bank will exit 10 countries including Mexico, Norway and New Zealand, and move trading operations from Brazil to global and regional hubs.
Additionally, Cryan will cut a total of 35,000 jobs. As WSJ notes, "the overall head count reduction includes 9,000 full-time jobs, 6,000 external contractors and 20,000 additional roles through the disposal of assets." Deutsche will also dump a host of assets including its Postbank retail unit.
But don't worry, because as John Cryan said, "Deutsche Bank does not have a strategy problem."
That's probably true. It's hard to have a strategy "problem" when you have no strategy at all.

Money manager Peter Schiff says don’t fall for the lies the Fed is telling about the so-called “recovery.” Schiff explains, “Everybody is brainwashed. They believe the Fed propaganda. The Fed has been talking about how great the recovery is and that they are getting ready to raise interest rates. None of that is true. There is no recovery, thanks to the Fed. All there is is a gigantic bubble that has prevented a recovery from taking place. The only reason the Fed is pretending to raise rates is so they can pretend the economy is strong enough to withstand that. The Fed basically can’t do that. They are going to do more quantitative easing (QE). They are going to do QE4, and all that is going to do is weaken the economy further. The economy is in worse shape than prior to the financial crisis (of 2008) thanks to the Fed.”
Schiff also points out, “If you look at the data coming out, all the data is consistent with recession, not expansion. In fact, if the Fed were to actually raise rates, it would be the first time the Fed would be raising rates into a slowing economy. This is not what the Fed normally does. Normally, the Fed would be stimulating with economic numbers this bad. The only numbers holding up are the housing numbers, and they are going to implode at some point. What nobody has wanted to acknowledge, under the surface of these 200,000 a month non-farm payroll numbers, it’s all part time work. It’s temporary work. It’s low paying service sector jobs.
We’ve had a collapse in the labor force participation rate. That’s why the unemployment claims are so low. You can’t get fired unless you get hired. We are not hiring a lot of people. People are just leaving the labor force, and that is what’s really going on. People are giving up full-time jobs in favor of part-time jobs, and none of this shows economic strength. It all reflects economic weakness. I think this is going to be a horrible Christmas. Americans are broke and they have no money to shop. Inventories are already bloated, and I think there are going to be huge markdowns. If you really want to get good buys, don’t buy anything until after Christmas.
I think there are going to be a lot of layoffs come January and February . . . and a lot of these part- time jobs are going to disappear. You are going to see a big increase in the unemployment rate. How is the Fed going to be able to raise interest rates then? If they couldn’t do it when unemployment was falling, how are they going to be able to do it when it’s rising?”
On gold going way down in price, Schiff says, “That’s not going to happen. There will be deflation. If you want to price things in gold, stock prices are coming way down in terms of gold. Real estate prices are coming way down in gold. Consumer prices are coming way down in gold. Commodity prices are coming way down in gold. They are not coming way down in dollar bills because the government can create as many of those as it wants. . . . I don’t know why a guy like a Harry Dent would have so much confidence in a Federal Reserve Note. He has no confidence at all in the U.S. economy and thinks everything is going to collapse, but somehow, in the middle of all that rubble, somehow the dollar is going to emerge supreme. Why would that be? There is no real precedent for that. Every country that has gotten themselves into the mess were in, only on a smaller scale, there has always been a collapse in the currency. . . . I don’t know why cash would be king.”

The late Rabbi Haim Shvili, a Jewish mystic born in the early 1900s, made many predictions about the messianic era in his book, Heshbonot Hageula (Reckonings of Redemption), which he wrote in 1935. Some of the predictions in this obscure and largely unknown text were shockingly accurate, stating specific dates and names. His final terrifying vision, that of a Russian-led coalition as the prophesied Gog, is unfolding on the front pages of newspapers today. Of course, Rabbi Shvili did what the newspapers can’t: he predicted precisely how it would end.
Shvili wrote that the chronology of the Book of Daniel, along with predictions found in Ezekiel 38 and 39, Joel 4 and Zechariah 14, indicated that a great war would break out during the Sukkot holiday of the Jewish year 5751, which began on October 3, 1990. This was reported in the Jerusalem Post and theLA Times of that year, a few weeks before the holiday. Though a great war did not break out, massive and unprecedented Arab riots exploded on the Temple Mount on Sukkot of that year, resulting in 23 Arab deaths and more than 150 Arabs being injured. This incident had major implications for Israel and resulted in international condemnation.
While Shvili did not predict how long the war would continue, he wrote that this conflict marked the beginning of the messianic process. Shvili believed that after the war Jerusalem would reign supreme and the city would become a center of tourism, pilgrimage and Jewish religious learning – a prophecy that has fully come to fruition.
Based on chapters 38 and 39 of Ezekiel, Shvili predicted that the major world power involved in the war of Gog and Magog would be Russia. He specified that it would not be England, though at the time of his predictions, England was the more logical choice for Gog, being much more powerful and more active as a global power. England was also directly involved in the Middle East as part of its mandate. This prediction is even more shocking, since at the time when he wrote his predictions, and even later when they were published, Russia had been replaced by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
Nonetheless, Shvili specified Russia as being the military leader of a coalition during the messianic wars by explaining the the verse in Ezekiel 38:2, which reads, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal”. Shvili interpreted the word “Rosh” through Kabbalistic techniques to mean Russia. He used the same techniques to interpret the words “Meshech” and “Tubal” to be the Balkan states, which are ruled by Russia.
Shvili emphasized that Gog is referred to as the “land of the North”, and Russia is the northernmost country in Europe. He pointed out that the return of the Jews from the north, as prophesied in Isaiah and Jeremiah, will be an enormous miracle. In fact, for a long period of time, the Soviet Union did not allow Jews to emigrate to Israel. In the late 1980s and 90s, around the time when Shvili predicted the messianic period would begin, in an entirely unexpected move, Mikhail Gorbachev opened the borders, allowing Jews to emigrate. More than 1.6 million Jews left, and almost one million came to Israel in what most thought an unlikely, perhaps even miraculous, occurrence.
The verses in Ezekiel explicitly state that Gog is a Nasi (prince) of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, indicating a republic and not a kingdom. There are presently many countries with a military presence in Syria and Iraq, forming several coalitions. The US is certainly one “prince,” or leader, while Russia is clearly the opposing “prince”.
Shvili predicted that the Russian-led coalition would be opposed by its corresponding counterpart, made up of an army composed of soldiers from all 70 nations. There have already been confrontations with international implications, such as Turkey shooting down a Russian fighter jet, Britain authorizing its air force to shoot down aggressive Russian jets, and face-offs between Russian and Israeli jets. As alliances continue to form, it is becoming clear that the present conflict in Syria will bring many countries into the fray, just as Shvili described.

Shvili also noted that the War of Gog and Magog would begin in the Hebrew month of Tishrei, which this year began five weeks ago with the holiday of Rosh Hashana, and ended October 12. On September 30th of this year, the 29th of Tishrei, Russia began formal military intervention in Syria, which conforms perfectly with his predictions.
Based on the verses of Ezekiel (39:11), Shvili understood that Russia would come down into Israel via the Golan Heights with the intention of conquering Egypt, but would be vanquished near what is today the Israeli town of Almagor at the northern tip of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret).
Many people, even those uninclined to Biblical prophecy, are realizing that we live in precarious and unusual times with strong parallels to the messianic process. Though this prospect might be frightening, by witnessing the predictions that have become reality and accepting them as part of a process that has been described, it is possible to take comfort in the end that has been assured. Shvili concludes that after the war of Gog and Magog, the prophecy of world peace, of “beating swords into plowshares” (Isaiah 2:4) will come into effect, centered around Jerusalem as the pinnacle of peace and holiness.

The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and I honor that regardless of the religion. I am commanded by Jesus to love my enemies. I try my best, but I confess that I often fall short of the glory of God. As a man, I have always believed in allowing people to dress, speak and behave as they want. I do not have to agree with anyone to show them dignity and respect. However, I also recognize my right to self-defense. This includes the right to protect my family, my neighborhood and my country. It is because of the latter phrase, that I strongly believe that we need to force the Obama administration to immediately cease all unscreened immigration activities from Muslim groups coming out of Africa and the Middle East. All we have to do is to look at what is happening in Europe to see that the continued importation of Muslims is too dangerous. Nobody, from any region of the world should be allowed to come to this country without thoroughly being investigated for health reasons and for reasons related to terrorism.
In Part One, I detailed how the current administration is bringing 200,000 Muslim immigrants to Michigan. Additionally, it was also pointed out that Obama is permitting the United Nations refugee and resettlement program dictate to host countries how many immigrants that they must take in.
Do I need to remind people that these immigrants are coming from parts of the world where there is a resurgence of an Ebola outbreak? Do I need to remind people that these people are coming from a region of the world that overwhelmingly hates America and holds our Western ways in extreme contempt? Do I need to further remind people that many of these people are followers of Sharia Law and will not rest until Christianity and the lifestyle of the West is obliterated by those who will impose their will upon us under the guidelines espoused by Sharia Law?
What we are doing with our immigration policy is insane. It amounts to “Suicide by Immigration”! For what possible reason should the FBI not be screening for and deporting those who pose a potential threat to the existing social order within the United States?

A Telling Interview
This interview appeared on VARA TV in the Netherlands on April 2, 2015. The host, Jeroen Pauw interviewed this well-known asylum seeker refugee Shabir Burhani, who is more known by the name of Maiwand al Afghani. This self avowed terrorist, Maiwand, is depicted as a luxury refugee. Seventeen years ago he fled from Afghanistan, having clear Taliban ties, and is now a student at the University of Leiden.
This terrorist who has gained asylum seeker status, he is getting help in every possible way; inclusive of financial aid. The “politically correct” multicultural policy makers from the United Nations have promoted Maiwand to be a fully-integrated new citizen, a champion showpiece of multiculturalism.
People life Maiwand will never be acculturated. Maiwand is a centerpiece of the United Nation’s Agenda 21 plan to erased all national boundaries as we move towards a one-world government controlled by the shadowy forces behind the United Nations.
Maiwand has been steadily radicalized and as he is also a Salafi Islam activist for whom the Sharia stands above the country laws.This means death to all who will not convert to Islam. This is the main philosophy of ISIS. Mainwand has further stated that the murder on Charlie Hebdo people is justified and he can also understand physical attack on gays as being legitimate.
The main question is: WHAT DOES MR. MAIWAND AL AFGHANI STILL DOING IN THE NETHERLANDS? WHY HE IS NOT SENt BACK TO HIS HERO’S OF THE TALIBAN?
In reality, Maiwand is an operative working for the Islamic State and he is recruiting any and all terrorists to come to Europe to claim the Continent for Allah under the uncompromising Sharia Law. His actions are supported by the American Islamic organization, CAIR.
