"It's Worse Than The Great Depression"

Image result for "It's Worse Than The Great Depression"

While Obama has repeatedly touted the sub-5.0% unemployment rate (4.9% most recently) as confirmation his "economic recovery" has been successful, what has received far less media attention has been the unprecedented surge in Americans no longer in the labor force, which as of August stood at a near-record 94.4 million
And while the traditional response by economic apolists and the media has been that this number is the result of a demographic change in US society, with mostly older workers no longer in the labor pool, we have over the years argued that that is misleading, and that millions of prime-aged workers have fallen out as a result of drastic changes to America's job market, coupled with structural lack of demand for legacy jobs, which has - for example - sent the number of employed waiters and bartenders to all time highs even as the number of manufacturing workers is lower than it was in December 2014.

Overnight, NPR confirmed precisely what we have claimed for so long, when it said that while the nation's unemployment rate is half of what it was at the height of the Great Recession: saying that the unempoyment number "hides a big problem: Millions of men in their prime working years have dropped out of the workforce — meaning they aren't working or even looking for a job.
Citing a recent report by Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, NPR notes that 83% of men in the prime working ages of 25-54 who were not in the labor force had not worked in the previous year. So, essentially, 10 million men are missing from the workforce.
Putting that number in context, in the 1960s, nearly 100 percent of men between the ages of 25 and 54 worked. That's fallen over the decades.
The condemnation of Obama's "recovery" is dire: "One in six prime-age guys has no job; it's kind of worse than it was in the depression in 1940," says Nicholas Eberstadt, an economic and demographic researcher at American Enterprise Institute who wrote the book Men Without Work: America's Invisible Crisis. He says these men aren't even counted among the jobless, because they aren't seeking work. According to Eberstadt little is known about the missing men, but there are numerous factors that make men less likely to be in the labor force — a lack of college degree, being single, or being black.
Why are men leaving? And what are they doing instead? An anecdote from NPR sheds some light:
They might be like Romeo Barnes. He lives in District Heights, Md., and his last job as a Wal-Mart greeter ended 11 years ago. He's 30, black, single and has cerebral palsy.
"I have able-bodied friends who can't find work, so it's not just me," Barnes says.

He says he has sought administrative jobs but that his disability and not having a college degree hold him back.

"Men are traditionally known for labor work. The lower-educated guys have to do stuff like that. And that's being taken away because we have machines," he says.

Indeed, economists say technology and overseas competition are displacing many jobs. The number of people collecting disability insurance, like Barnes, has also increased.

AEI's Eberstadt says criminal records may also play a factor. Some 20 million Americans have felony convictions — the vast majority of whom are men. But, he says, it's hard to know how big a factor that is, because the government doesn't keep data on their employment status.

"Something on the order of one out of every eight adult men has got a felony conviction, and we don't have the slightest clue as to their employment patterns," Eberstadt says.
What the missing men aren't doing in large numbers is staying home to take care of family. 40% of nonworking women are primary caregivers; that's true of only 5 percent of men out of the workforce. But they do exist: take the example of Virginia Beach dad Jory Rekkedal quit his IT job a year ago to take care of his two girls — a gig he has loved.
"I wasn't going to go back to work. It was almost going to just be a nice transition into retirement for me — a very early retirement. I mean, I'm only 36 years old," he says.
And if he does go back to work, he worries about the prospects.

"Things move really, really, really quick [in IT], and I'm worried that if we can't make it work, that I'm going to go looking for a job and they're going to say two years out of it, 'Sorry, brother, you don't have what it takes to work here anymore,' " Rekkedal says.
Tara Sinclair, chief economist for job-search site Indeed.com, says brawny jobs are being replaced by brainy ones, and that trend doesn't favor men. "The question is, is this the new normal? Or, with the right economic conditions, the right opportunities, will those people come back into the labor market?" she says.
It gets worse: Sinclair says if men keep exiting the workforce, that could strain the social safety net and hold back economic growth. Some, like Richard Hintzke, say they hope to go back to work. He shuttered his Detroit home-appraisal business after the housing market crashed in 2009 and considered his options.
"You know, it looked like the sky was falling, so it was like, if there was ever a good time to disengage, I said, this is a good time," he says. Hintzke, who is 53 and doesn't have children, relocated to Austin, Texas, and has lived off income from investment properties.

He says he misses the camaraderie he felt while working and the feeling of contributing something. These days, he's mulling a new career in holistic healing. But once you're out of work for a while, he admits, it's easy to lose momentum.
For now, however, there is little hope to get those tens of millions of inert prime-aged workers back into the labor force, and absent a substantial overhaul, coupled with reschooling of those who have been out of the workforce, the chances this troubling trend will reverse are slim to none. Meanwhile, it means that as the class and wealth divide courtesy of the Fed accelerates, the numbers of increasingly angry people who feel justifiably left out, will continue to rise, until one day not even all the government's social safety nets will be able to prevent what comes next.

Russian River Mysteriously Turns Blood Red

PHOTO: Photos posted by local residents on social media appear to show the Daldykan river close to Norilsk has turned blood red.

Startled residents of a Russian city inside the Arctic Circle have been publishing photos of a local river that has mysteriously turned blood red.
Photos published on Russian social media appear to the show the river Daldykan near the city of Norilsk flowing a vivid burgundy color. Authorities have so far declined to give a reason for the river’s unusual appearance, but local people have quickly begun linking it to a giant metals factory located upstream.
Norilsk is known as one of the most polluted cities on earth, built around factories mostly belonging to the vast metals company, Norilsk Nikel. Some Norilsk residents wrote in a local social media group that they believed the river’s biblical shade was linked to runoff from a nearby smelting plant.

Military Psychiatrists to be Used to Send Americans Into FEMA Camps

Image result for fema psico

I receive several tips per day about impending events which are usually catastrophic in nature. However, there is occasionally one that carries much weight and seems highly credible. This is one of these times.
I just received the following email from someone who works in behavioral health in the military. His projections about what is coming are very concerning, to say the least.

Dear Mr. Hodges,
I work in the military, in behavioral sciences, which involves direct intervention with military personnel with significant mental illnesses ranging from PTSD to treatment for addiction.
In order that I might maintain my anonymity, I will not reveal the type of behavioral specialist that I am employed as and I will not identify my branch. Thanks for understanding. I would be prosecuted for revealing classified information in some of what I am going to reveal. I am so pleased that you have a background in mental health as you will be able to articulate this story correctly.
You have previously written on the topic of mental illness being used as a political tool to silence, incarcerate and eliminate all who might be in opposition to the gang of hoodlums who have seized control of our government, economy and social structure.
You must feel like a lone voice in the wilderness as I do not think this topic has received the coverage that it needs and deserves to.
Please let me elaborate on what you have previously expressed.
I attended several classified briefings about how my outfit would be utilized if and when it came time to incarcerate millions of Americans, either for their own safety, or what amounted to being a political prisoner under the guise of treating mental illness.
Please allow me to focus on the incarceration of political prisoners. We were told that the economy is not sustainable and we will soon see rampaging hordes of people running through the streets in search of scarce resources such as food and water.
Before this can happen, the DoD wants to incarcerate the most dangerous of these groups and that would be the veterans. Veterans are capable of mounting a defense as well as forming civil defense groups of regular citizens to resist the tyranny that is coming. We were told that America is attempting to covertly transition into a new form of government which will be geared towards maximizing survival of as many people as possible. The ideals of the Constitution are outdated according to what we were told. Millions will risk starving to death and/or becoming the victim of random violence.
The counter to these threats is to eliminate all opposition to the transition. Although we have not been told this directly, it is easy to see where this is going. The new mental health rules are set up to produce false positives in order that a patient will be falsely diagnoses and incarcerated. This includes what you have written about before.
I am speaking about veterans and general dissidents who will not accept the fragmentation of the United States and the dissolving our form of government. The establishment will use mental health as an excuse to incarcerate people.
One, it is disguised incarceration and the general population will not become alarmed because only mentally defective people are being locked up. Our instructor told us that they believe they can incarcerate 10 million people before the agenda is exposed. “Agenda is exposed” is fairly close to a quote. The eventual plan is to incarcerate as many as 75 million people.
The role of the behavioral units in the military will be to diagnose people with a disorder in which the patient must be confined for their safety and the safety of others.
Secondly, we would be sedating as many in the population as possible for stress related disorders. This will make the population more docile and easier to control.
Third, we were told that we would heavily sedate the new class of political prisoners so they cannot mount any resistance.  Dave, we already have about 1/5th of the country medicated on psychotropics. We are well on our way to accomplishing this goal.
I have read much of what you have written and I have concluded that this will be the new form of martial law. However, I believe that this will only be an excuse to get people out of the way who might pose a problem for what is coming.
Please republish some what you have written on the topic because we are there my friend. The move to increase the number of medicated personnel and confined “mental health patients” has already increased.
I know you have written about the Clergy Response Team. We have trained with members of the CRT in order to achieve a more orderly incarceration scenario.
I cannot tell you my status in all of this without revealing my position and I am certain that you can appreciate that fact.
By the way, Dave, one of the criteria for establishing mental illness is the ownership of a gun. I am not merely saying the PTSD sufferers will be denied gun ownership.  Already we are seeing patient questionnaires from doctors as about gun ownership.of their patients. The ownership of a gun will be linked under ICD to paranoid ideation. Please note that I said ICD, not DSM. This is because the UN is calling the shots on this criteria.
We were told that the trigger event will be both cyber-attack upon the grid and the interruption of critical resource shipments which will bring about Continuity of Government procedures.
My advice to everyone is to hide your guns and ammo and begin to store medicine and food.
Dave, please begin to once again spread the word because I believe that time is short.
I will be in touch again soon.

This parallels what Alabama talk show host, Joshua Coy, has reported about the goings on in No. Alabama, where transient mental health facilities are being constructed on private land while the owners are told to “stay away”.
In response to this communication, I will be soon calling attention, once again, to the government’s intention to use mental illness as an excuse to incarcerate many Americans as a ruse to send them to FEMA camps, using different names of course, for  the final disposition of these people.

Christians warn Pan-American solar eclipse to unleash biblical APOCALYPSE

Image result for Christians warn Pan-American solar eclipse to unleash biblical APOCALYPSE

The apocalypse has been predicted next year by doomsayers from Christian website Unsealed.

The solar event will spread across America on August 21 next year - Crossing 12 US states.

Western Europe, including the UK, Ireland, France and Spain will then experience a partial eclipse.

It will be the first total eclipse to travel from one coast of America to the other, across 12 states, for almost a century.

Unsealed has said this event will be the beginning on the end.

The Christians are quoting the Bible as their main source of proof.

Scripture from the Book of Revelation supports its theory, according to Unsealed.

The conspiracy theorists have pointed to passages from The Book of Revelation to support their predictions.

They have highlighted passages describing a woman clothed in the sun, with the moon at her feet.

Scripture says the woman will be hunted by a Satanic seven-headed dragon looking to eat her unborn child.

It is said the child will be born and taken unto god, before an army of angels defeats the dragon.

Conspiracy theorists have also pointed to the birth of Israel as a state, which began in 1947, to support the theory.

They give significance to mention of this in accounts of the end of the world and say that next year will mark a biblical generation – 70 years – since it happened.

Unsealed also highlights predictions of twelfth-century Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel, who reportedly said the end of the world would come in 2017.

But, the doomsayers do hint at some uncertainty in their predictions as they've also said that scripture warns "no one knows" the hour of the apocalypse.

40,000 Students In Limbo, 8,000 Employees Fired As ITT Suddenly Shuts Down

Image result for itt

The long-running tragic saga of ITT Education Services, which was established nearly 50 ago and operates the ITT Technical Institutes for-profit college chain, finally came to a end this morning with both a bang and a whimper, when it announced that it is shutting down effective immediately, leaving the fate of 40,000 students currently enrolled in limbo, and some 8,000 workers without a job.
The company said the closure is due to an investigation and sanctions by the U.S. Department of Education.
"It is with profound regret that we must report that ITT Educational Services, Inc. will discontinue academic operations at all of its ITT Technical Institutes permanently after approximately 50 years of continuous service," the company stated Tuesday. "Effective today, the company has eliminated the positions of the overwhelming majority of our more than 8,000 employees."
As previously reported,  ITT Tech stopped enrolling new students on August 29, just a few days after it was cut off from a significant amount of federal funding by the government. ITT's collapse was catalyzed when the Department of Education effectively killed the company two weeks ago, when it told the company on August 25 that it couldn’t enroll new students who use federal financial aid. The school accused federal officials of forcing the closure and denying it due process. The company has been the subject of state and federal probes for various reasons, including its recruitment tactics, lending practices and job placement figures.
Among the measures imposed, ITT was been ordered to pay $152 million to the department within 30 days to cover student refunds and other liabilities in case the company closes. The chain, based in Indiana, is still paying another $44 million demanded by the department in June for the same reason.
In order to have access to federal student loans, schools need to be accredited by a government-recognized accrediting agency. ITT Educational Services was found to be out of compliance with its accreditor’s standards twice this year, according to the Department of Education. Needless to say, for-profit schools tend to rely heavily on federal student aid.
The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools recently asked the company for proof of why its accreditation should not be withdrawn or suspended.
ITT's death, while sudden, should not come as a surprise: enrollment has been slipping for a while. In July, the company reported its new student enrollment dropped almost 22% from the same period the year before.
Meanwhile, the roughly 40,000 students currently enrolled now find themselves in limbo: when a school closes its doors, it can leave its students stuck without a degree and massive student loans. ITT"s collapse is reminiscent of Corinthian Colleges, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May of 2015 in the wake of alleged predatory lending practices and accusations of inflated job placement numbers, leaving about 16,000 students stuck without a degree, and thousands more with huge debts. Some students were eventually able to receive debt relief.
Cited by PIX11, the Department of Education has said that ITT Educational Services’ students could be eligible for a closed school loan discharge, however that process may take years to complete, meanwhile the prospect of earning a college diploma, even if from a novelty school, has evaporated.
Enrollment in for-profit schools increased in the years following the recession when job growth was weak and people were looking to hone their skills or switch to more in-demand careers.

The full statement released by ITT is below:
ITT Educational Services, Inc. to Cease Operations at all ITT Technical Institutes Following Federal Actions
"It is with profound regret that we must report that ITT Educational Services, Inc. will discontinue academic operations at all of its ITT Technical Institutes permanently after approximately 50 years of continuous service. With what we believe is a complete disregard by the U.S. Department of Education for due process to the company, hundreds of thousands of current students and alumni and more than 8,000 employees will be negatively affected.
The actions of and sanctions from the U.S. Department of Education have forced us to cease operations of the ITT Technical Institutes, and we will not be offering our September quarter. We reached this decision only after having exhausted the exploration of alternatives, including transfer of the schools to a non-profit or public institution.
Effective today, the company has eliminated the positions of the overwhelming majority of our more than 8,000 employees. Our focus and priority with our remaining staff is on helping the tens of thousands of unexpectedly displaced students with their records and future educational options.
This action of our federal regulator to increase our surety requirement to 40 percent of our Title IV federal funding and place our schools under "Heightened Cash Monitoring Level 2," forced us to conclude that we can no longer continue to operate our ITT Tech campuses and provide our students with the quality education they expect and deserve.
For more than half a century, ITT Tech has helped hundreds of thousands of non-traditional and underserved students improve their lives through career-focused technical education. Thousands of employers have relied on our institutions for skilled workers in high-demand fields. We have been a mainstay in more than 130 communities that we served nationwide, as well as an engine of economic activity and a positive innovator in the higher-education sector.
This federal action will also disrupt the lives of thousands of hardworking ITT Tech employees and their families. More than 8,000 ITT Tech employees are now without a job – employees who exhibited the utmost dedication in serving our students.
We have always carefully managed expenses to align with our enrollments. We had no intention prior to the receipt of the most recent sanctions of closing down despite the challenging regulatory environment that now threatens all proprietary higher education. We have also always worked tirelessly to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and to uphold our ethic of continuous improvement. When we have received inquiries from regulators, we have always been responsive and cooperative. Despite our ongoing service to this nation's employers, local communities and underserved students, these federal actions will result in the closure of the ITT Technical Institutes without any opportunity to pursue our right to due process.
These unwarranted actions, taken without proving a single allegation, are a "lawless execution," as noted by a recent editorial in The Wall Street Journal. We were not provided with a hearing or an appeal. Alternatives that we strongly believe would have better served students, employees, and taxpayers were rejected. The damage done to our students and employees, as well as to our shareholders and the American taxpayers, is irrevocable.
We believe the government's action was inappropriate and unconstitutional, however, with the ITT Technical Institutes ceasing operations, it will now likely rest on other parties to understand these reprehensible actions and to take action to attempt to prevent this from happening again."

Pentagon At War With CIA In Syria

Image result for kids playing war

What a mess! In the crazy Syrian war, US-backed and armed groups are fighting other US-backed rebel groups. How can this be?
It is so because the Obama White House had stirred up war in Syria but then lost control of the process. When the US has a strong president, he can usually keep the military and intelligence agencies on a tight leash.
But the Obama administration has had a weak secretary of defense and a bunch of lady strategists who are the worst military commanders since Louis XV, who put his mistress, Madame de Pompadour, in charge of French military forces during the Seven Year’s War. The French were routed by the Prussians. France’s foe, Frederick the Great of Prussia, named one of his dogs, ‘la Pompadour.’
As a result, the two arms of offensive US strategic power, the Pentagon and CIA, went separate ways in Syria. Growing competition between the US military and militarized CIA broke into the open in Syria.
Fed up with the astounding incompetence of the White House, the US military launched and supported its own rebel groups in Syria, while CIA did the same.
Fighting soon after erupted in Syria and Iraq between the US-backed groups. US Special Forces joined the fighting in Syria, Iraq and most lately, Libya.
The well-publicized atrocities, like mass murders and decapitations, greatly embarrassed Washington, making it harder to portray their jihadi wildmen as liberators. The only thing exceptional about US policy in Syria was its astounding incompetence.
Few can keep track of the 1,000 groups of jihadis that keep changing their names and shifting alliances. Throw in Turkomans, Yzidis, Armenians, Nestorians, Druze, Circassians, Alawis, Assyrians and Palestinians. Oh yes, and the Alevis.
Meanwhile, ISIS was inflicting mayhem on Syria and Iraq. But who really is ISIS? A few thousand twenty-something hooligans with little knowledge of Islam but a burning desire to dynamite the existing order and a sharp media sense. The leadership of these turbaned anarchists appears to have formed in US prison camps in Afghanistan.
The US, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey armed and financed ISIS as a weapon to unleash on Syria, which was an ally of Iran that refused to take orders from the Western powers. The west bears heavy responsibility for the deaths of 450,000 Syrians, at least half the nation of 23 million becoming refugees, and destruction of this once lovely country.
At some point, ISIS shook off its western tutors and literally ran amok. But the US has not yet made a concerted attempt to crush ISIS because of its continuing usefulness in Syria and in the US, where ISIS has become the favorite whipping boy of politicians.
Next come the Kurds, an ancient Indo-European stateless people spread across Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria. They have been denied a national state by the western powers since WWI. Kurdish rebels in Iraq have been armed and financed by Israel since the 1970’s.
When America’s Arab jihadists proved militarily feeble, the US turned to the Kurds, who are renowned fighters, arming and financing the Kurdish Syrian YPG which is part of the well-known PKK rebel group that fights Turkey.
I covered the Turkish-Kurdish conflict in eastern Anatolia in the 1980’s in which some 40,000 died.
Turkey is now again battling a rising wave of Kurdish attacks that caused the Turks to probe into northern Syria to prevent a link-up of advancing Kurdish rebel forces.
So, Turkey, a key American ally, is now battling CIA-backed Kurdish groups in Syria. Eighty percent of Turks believe the recent failed coup in Turkey was mounted by the US – not the White House, but by the Pentagon which has always been joined at the hip to Turkey’s military.
This major Turkish-Kurdish crisis was perfectly predictable, but the obtuse junior warriors of the Obama administration failed to grasp this point.
Now the Russians have entered the fray in an effort to prevent their ally, Bashar Assad, from being overthrow by western powers. Also perfectly predictable. Russia claimed to be bombing ISIS but in fact is targeting US-backed groups. Washington is outraged that the wicked Russians are doing in the Mideast what the US has done for decades.
The US and Russia now both claim to have killed a senior ISIS commander in an air strike. Their warplanes are dodging one another, creating a perfect scenario for a head-on clash at a time when neocons in the US are agitating for war with Russia.
Does anyone think poor, demolished Syria is worth the price? Hatred for the US is now seething in Turkey and across the Mideast. Hundreds of millions of US tax dollars have been wasted in this cruel, pointless war.
Time for the US to stop stirring this witch’s brew.
