A plan in which the Palestinian Authority and Jordan will receive sovereignty over the Temple Mount

The Obama administration has quietly presented a plan in which the Palestinian Authority and Jordan will receive sovereignty over the Temple Mount while Israel will retain the land below the Western Wall, according to a senior PA negotiator speaking to WND.

The Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism.

The proposed plan is part of the basis for U.S.-brokered talks that are set to resume in Washington next week after Secretary of State John Kerry announced that both Israel and PA President Mahmoud Abbas have agreed to open negotiations aimed at creating a Palestinian state.

Israel has not agreed to the U.S. plan over the Temple Mount, with details still open for discussion, stated the PA negotiator.

The negotiator, who is one of the main Palestinian figures leading the Arab side of the talks, further divulged Kerry’s proposed outline for a Palestinian state as presented orally to Israel and the PA.

He said Jordan has been invited to play a key role in the discussions surrounding both the Temple Mount and Jerusalem while it will be the PA, with some Jordanian assistance, that would ultimately receive control of some of those areas.

WND was first to report in 2007 that Jordan had been quietly purchasing real estate surrounding the Temple Mount in Jerusalem hoping to gain more control over the area accessing the holy site, according to Palestinian and Israeli officials.

Meanwhile, regarding the rest of Jerusalem, Kerry’s plan is to rehash what is known as the Clinton parameters. That formula, pushed by President Bill Clinton during the Camp David talks in 2000, called for Jewish areas of Jerusalem to remain Israeli while the Palestinians would get sovereignty over neighborhoods that are largely Arab. Most Arab sections are located in eastern Jerusalem.

WND previously reported the Palestinians are building illegally in Jewish-owned areas of Jerusalem, resulting in Arab majorities in some neighborhoods.

For the strategic Jordan Valley, Obama’s proposal calls for international forces to maintain security control along with unarmed Palestinian police forces, the PA negotiator said. Israel will retain security posts in some strategic areas of the Jordan Valley, according to the leaked plan.

When it comes to the West Bank, which borders Jerusalem and is within rocket range of Israel’s main population centers, Israel is expected to evacuate about 90 percent of its Jewish communities currently located in the territory, as outlined in Kerry’s plan.

Israel would retain strategic security posts along with the West Bank’s main blocs, Maale Adumin, Ariel and Gush Etzion. In return, Obama is calling for an exchange of territory with the Palestinians in other locations inside Israel, with discussion being open for the Palestinians to possibly receive land in the Israeli Negev in the country’s south.

The PA negotiator further said Israel rejected a Palestinian request that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agree not to place the final peace plan up for referendum in the Knesset.

Indeed, Netanyahu announced today any plan must receive final approval in a national poll.

“I am committed to two objectives that must guide the result … if there will be a result. And if there will be a result, it will be put to a national referendum,” he said at the start of the cabinet meeting.

“Negotiations with the Palestinians will not be easy, but we are entering them with integrity, honesty and hope,” Netanyahu added.

The PA negotiator, meanwhile, said Netanyahu agreed that as a gesture to restart talks, Israel will enact a temporary freeze on all Jewish construction in the West Bank outside the main settlement blocs. According to Israeli sources, such a freeze has largely already been in place for several months now anyway.

The negotiator warned that one of the toughest issues centers on control of water, with Kerry already reaching out to Turkey about the prospect of selling water at a cheaper rate to a future Palestinian state.

Euro Area Government Debt Rises To New Record High

While the European economy may be moving in a straight line from upper left to lower right, the same can not be said for the level of debt in Europe, which has taken on the inverse trajectory. As per the just released quarterly update of Euro area government debt, in Q1 2013, total government debt in Europe as a % of GDP just hit a new all time high of 92.2%. This compares to 90.6% in the previous quarter, and up from 88.2% in Q1 2012.

The proud Q1 debt-to-GDP outliers, where the local economies are expected to continue plunging and thus send the stock markets (if mostly that in the US) surging, are the following:

Not everything was a continuing balance sheet disaster. Three countries had barely any sovereign debt/GDP with Estonia best at 10.0%, Bulgaria second at 18.0% and Luxembourg third at 22.4%, although one wonders just how bad the last one is net of all the "lies" its now former Prime Minister may have been sweeping under the rug.

French police, youths clash after veil incident

About 250 people hurling projectiles clashed with police firing tear gas west of Paris, in apparent protest over enforcement of France's ban on Islamic face veils. Five people were injured and six detained in the violence, authorities said Saturday.

The interior minister urged calm and dialogue, insisting on both the need for public order and respect for France's Muslims. The incident in the town of Trappes on Friday night reflected sporadic tensions between police upholding France's strict policies of secularism and those who accuse authorities of discriminating against France's No. 2 religion.

A few garbage dumpsters in the area were torched and a bus shelter shattered in the Trappes unrest. Spent tear gas capsules lay on the road Saturday near the police station at the center of the violence.

A 14-year-old boy suffered a serious eye injury in the violence, from a projectile of unknown provenance, Prosecutor Vincent Lesclous told reporters. Four police officers were injured and six people were detained in the violence, said an official with the regional police administration. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to be named due to his department's rules.

On Saturday night, fearing new violence, riot police deployed around the town, but the atmosphere appeared calm.

The Friday night violence came after a gathering of about 200-250 people to protest the arrest of a man whose wife was ticketed Thursday for wearing a face veil. The husband tried to strangle an officer who was doing the ticketing, the prosecutor said.

France has barred face veils since 2011. Proponents of the ban — which enjoyed wide public support across the political spectrum — argue the veil oppresses women and contradicts France's principles of secularism, which are enshrined in the constitution. In addition to small fines or citizenship classes for women wearing veils, the law includes a hefty 30,000 euro ($39,370) fine for anyone who forces a woman to wear one.

These have subjectively submersed themselves into the current events of the day and the "mission" for the restoration of Washington and it has absolutely consumed all of their time and energy. They have constructed a wall of worry, ignorance and temporal foresight so high that they cannot see and comprehend the hour and day in which we are living in. These days in which we are living in are the catalyst leading to the soon approaching Day of the Lord, the Battle of Armageddon and Lord Jesus Christ's glorious second coming to earth to establish His 1000 Year Kingdom! (2 Thess. 2:2-3, Rev 16:13-16, 19:11-21).

Our Holy admonition from Almighty God is that we are to be Christ’sservants (slave) first for Almighty God's GLORY and HONOR, and conservative patriots second. This is the proper order for the child of God (John 1:12) today.

America No Longer Has a Functioning Judicial System

The Separation of Powers Which Define Our Democracy Have Been Destroyed

The Department of Justice told a federal court this week that the NSA’s spying “cannot be challenged in a court of law”.

(This is especially dramatic given that numerous federal judges and legal scholars – including a former FISA judge – say that the FISA spying “court” is nothing but a kangaroo court.)

Also this week, the Department of Justice told a federal court that the courts could not review the legality of the government’s extra-judicial assassination by drone of Americans abroad:

“‘Are you saying that a US citizen targeted by the United States in a foreign country has no constitutional rights?’ [the judge] asked Brian Hauck, a deputy assistant attorney general. ‘How broadly are you asserting the right of the United States to target an American citizen? Where is the limit to this?’

“She provided her own answer: ‘The limit is the courthouse door’ . . . .

“‘Mr. Hauck acknowledged that Americans targeted overseas do have rights, but he said they could not be enforced in court either before or after the Americans were killed.’”

(Indeed, the Obama administration has previously claimed the power to be judge, jury and executioner in both drone and cyber-attacks. This violates Anglo-Saxon laws which have been on the books in England and America for 800 years.)

The Executive Branch also presents “secret evidence” in many court cases … sometimes even hiding the evidence from the judge who is deciding the case.

Bush destroyed much of the separation of powers which made our country great. But under Obama, it’s gotten worse.

For example, the agency which decides who should be killed by drone is the same agencywhich spies on all Americans.

Daniel Ellsberg notes that even the Founding Fathers didn’t have to deal with a government claiming that it could indefinitely detain Americans … even on American soil.

After Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Chris Hedges, journalist Naomi Wolf, Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg and others sued the government to enjoin the NDAA’s allowance of the indefinite detention of Americans – the judge asked the government attorneys 5 times whether journalists like Hedges could be indefinitely detained simply for interviewing and then writing about bad guys. The government refused to promise that journalists like Hedges won’t be thrown in a dungeon for the rest of their lives without any right to talk to a judge

The Department of Justice has also tapped Congressional phones, and a high-level NSA whistleblower says that the NSA is spying on – and blackmailing – top government officials and military officers including all 9 Supreme Court justices.

It’s not just the Executive Branch which has attacked the courts. For example, Congress passed a bill stripping courts of the power to review issues related to genetically modified foods.

The Constitution is mortally mounded. While the “war on terror” is commonly cited as the excuse, most of the attacks on our rights started before 9/11. Indeed, the Founding Fathers warned 200 years ago that open-ended wars give the Executive an excuse to take away our liberties.

Two former U.S. Supreme Court Justices have warned that America is sliding into tyranny. A former U.S. President, and many other high-level American officials agree.

In addition to attacks on the judiciary by the White House and Congress, judges arevoluntarily gutting the justice system … and laying down in lapdog-obeisance to D.C.

For example, the Supreme Court ruled that if judges don’t like plaintiffs’ allegations of bad government actions, the judge can simply pre-judge and throw out the lawsuit before even allowing the party to conduct any discovery to prove their claims. This guts 220 years of Constitutional law, and makes it extremely difficult to challenge harmful government action in court.

America has a “dual justice system … one for ordinary people and then one for people with money and enormous wealth and power”.

Indeed, most Americans have less access to justice than Botswanans … and are more abused by police than Kazakhstanis.

Giant ‘corpse flower’ with odor of rotting flesh blooms next door to US Capitol

WASHINGTON — The long wait is finally over for visitors who have been yearning for a whiff of a giant flower that smells oddly like rotting flesh.

Titan arum, a giant rainforest plant that has been dubbed the “corpse flower” for its terrible smell, finally started blooming Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Botanic Garden next to the Capitol. Experts had been anticipating its bloom for more than a week and extended the garden’s hours for visitors each night.

Garden officials expect “peak smell” to occur early Monday morning, and the flower to remain open for an estimated 24 to 48 hours. Then it will begin to collapse on itself. The last corpse flower to bloom at the U.S. Botanic Garden was in 2007.
The titan arum is native to the tropical rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia. It was first discovered in 1878. Corpse flowers also have recently bloomed at facilities in Ohio and in Belgium.

Scientists say the flower’s strange odor serves to attract beetles or other insects that are normally drawn to rotting flesh.

“Just in the same way that a lovely smelling plant, like a rose, is attracting a bee or another kind of insect with what we would consider a very nice smell, to pollinate it, this particular plant has the strategy of using a horrible, fetid smell to attract insects,” said Ari Novy, the public programs manager at the garden. “So this plant is essentially tricking those kinds of insects into coming, having a party inside of the plant and the flower and pollinating it and then moving on.”

Army Chief urges Britain to prepare for war in Syria

British efforts to stop the forces of Syria’s President Bashar Assad could drag the UK into war to prevent the regime's chemical weapons falling into the wrong hands, Britain's retiring General Sir David Richards has warned.

“The risk of terrorism is becoming more and more dominant in our strategic vision for what we might do in Syria. If that risk develops, we would almost certainly have to act to mitigate it and we are ready to do so,” the leaving Chief of the Defense Staff told the Sun.

“I think it is a very big question. If we saw chemical weapons proliferate as a result of what is happening in Syria then we would have to act,” he added.

Last week British intelligence warned of Syria's arsenal of chemical weapons potentially falling into the hands of Al-Qaeda if Assad is toppled.

The parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) said there was “serious concern” about the security of the “vast stockpiles” of chemical weapons amassed by the regime.

Sir David said no-fly zones over Syria would be “insufficient” to restrain regime forces and Western military would be forced to hit ground targets.

"If you wanted to have the material impact on the Syrian regime's calculations … you have to be able, as we did successfully in Libya, to hit ground targets, you have to establish a ground control zone. You have to take out their air defenses. You also have to make sure they can't maneuver - which means you have to take out their tanks, and their armored personnel carriers and all the other things that are actually doing the damage,” the Army Chief said.

General Richards steps down after more than 40 years in the British Army.

He served in Northern Ireland, Germany, East Timor, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan as head of the International Security and Assistance Force (ISAF).

The General referred to Libya where no-fly zones were used in conjunction with ground control zones to topple the regime of Muammar Gadhafi.

The analyst argues that everything depends on the objective of an operation.

“If you get involved in a military operation – either you want the regime changed – like you want President Gaddafi and Assad out, or you want to go in there just to protect people and keep the peace. There are several reasons and you need to clear objectives. But it’s an easy boundary to cross which takes you in a situation like you have in Iraq or Afghanistan,” he said.

It’s still not clear whether it would be in Britain’s interests to intervene in Syria according to military analysts.

“Strategically I think everybody is, probably, quite scared of getting involved in another occupation of the Middle Eastern country. I don’t know whether this involvement is inevitable. In all depends whether the war is worth fighting. President Assad, a friend of Russia, a friend of Iran, maybe potentially a useful conduit to communicate with Iran or Russia. President Gadhafi was a friend of nobody actually,” the expert said.

Meanwhile, the US top military officer has told the Senate Committee that Obama Administration is deliberating whether to use military power in Syria.

Army General Martin Dempsey said during Congressional testimony that he has provided president Obama with options for the use of force in Syria.

Dempsey used the term “kinetic” strikes and added the issue was under deliberation inside the agencies of government.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State John Kerry recently visited refugee camps for Syrians in neighboring Jordan and expressed concern at the plight of those fleeing the bloodshed.

“And this is building into one of the greatest humanitarian crisis on the face of the planet as getting worse by the day, not better,” Kerry said.

Russia, Assad’s most powerful foreign backer, and the US, want peace talks in Geneva to try to agree the ceasefire and the makeup of a transitional government. But a British government source has told Reuters that the peace conference may not happen until next year if at all. He also said that the UK has dropped plans to arm Syrian rebels and believes that Bashar Assad might survive in office for years.

Israel deploys Iron Dome near Red Sea resort of Eilat

AFP - Israel deployed its Iron Dome missile defence system near the Red Sea resort of Eilat, which is close to the border with Egypt, an army spokeswoman said.

"An Iron Dome battery was deployed this morning in Eilat," the spokeswoman told AFP.

"The batteries are deployed in several areas of the country and moved around according to changes in the (security) situation," she added without elaborating.

But Israeli media said the deployment was related to unrest in Egypt, where the army is waging a campaign to drive militants out of the Sinai Peninsula, which borders Eilat.

Ynet news website also pointed out that the deployment came at the height of the tourist season in southern Israel.

Eilat has been the target of attacks in the past. In April the town was struck by rocket fire from the Sinai and debris of a rocket that hit northern Eilat on July 4 were found days later.

Egypt's official news agency MENA on Thursday reported that 10 jihadists had been killed in the Sinai Peninsula in the past two days during the army offensive launched to curtail a surge in violence since Islamist president Mohamed Morsi was ousted on July 3 in a military-led coup.

The Iron Dome deployment also comes hours after two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel late on Thursday night, causing no casualties or damage, police said.
