InMotion concept vehicle reveals how cars will have 'self-driving rooms' that adapt to each passenger's needs

When you're having a lazy day, it can be tough to drag yourself away from the sofa.

But a bizarre new driverless vehicle concept could soon mean that you don't have to.

InMotion is the world's first self-driving room, which ditches the steering wheel and driving column in favour of a spacious area, for comfort on the go.

The InMotion vehicle was revealed by National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) at the CES technology show in Shanghai this week for the first time.

Its designers see it as a vision on how we can travel safely in the future without owning a car, and without a driver.

InMotion would be a shared vehicle, with users calling the car through an app.

The car features a flexible interior that could be adapted according to the needs of the passengers, whether it's having a business meeting, socialising with friends or going to work.

Users can decide how they want the interior to look through the app, controlling seat movements, lighting ambience and layout.

When the car arrives, it will welcome the customer curb-side and prepare the interior space according to these personal needs.

Mr Jonas Hernqvist, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at NEVS said: 'This design is starting from an interior perspective, with the intention of showing how people can add quality to their lives by filling the time of travelling with value, and not wasting it by being stuck behind the wheel, sometimes for hours just to get across the downtown areas.

'This is why we are displaying this flexible and very user friendly concept.

'This is unique compared to others.'

The InMotion is still a concept vehicle, and it is unclear whether NEVS plans to create a working version.

It is also unclear how much the InMotion is expected to cost.
