Ahmadinejad unveils new Iranian air force fighter
A new advanced fighter jet was unveiled Saturday by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to commemorate the upcoming 34th anniversary of the Islamic revolution, state media reported.
The domestically designed and developed Qaher-313 is similar to the US-built F/A-18, the report said.
Ahmadinejad said the plane ranked among the most advanced in the world.
He stressed that Iran's military programmes were solely for defensive deterrent purposes.
