Enemies to suffer defeat by any misstep
An Iranian military commander has stressed the importance of all-out defense against possible future wars, warning enemies that any strategic mistake on their part will definitely lead to their defeat.
“During the past three decades, enemies have understood the components of our power and they will be definitely defeated if they commit a strategic mistake in [their] calculations,” Second-in-Command to Iran's Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid said on Monday.
He added that Iranian Armed Forces should increase their readiness in peacetime to avert a possible war, stressing that they should always have defensive and deterrence power.
The Iranian commander added that all means and sources of power should be used in possible future events to defeat enemies given the fact that Iran is currently acting as a regional power.
The United States and its ally, Israel, have frequently threatened to carry out a strike against Iran’s nuclear energy facilities based on the unfounded claim that Tehran’s peaceful nuclear activities include a military component. Iran has vehemently refuted the allegation.
Addressing a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on March 5, Commander of the US Central Command General James Mattis claimed that Washington had a number of ways to bring Iran to its knees.
In response to Mattis’ claims, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said on March 6 that any act of aggression against the country will receive a decisive response.
