Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will start removing students from classes this week if they don’t have all of their required shots.
North Carolina requires parents to show proof of immunizations on the first day of school, but they get a 30-day grace period.
The grace period for CMS is up on Wednesday.
Channel 9 talked to parents who said it makes them feel secure to know students who don’t have their shots won’t be at school.
“It makes a lot of sense to me,” said parent Gail Porfilio. “Why risk your child, let alone other children.”
New vaccine requirements took effect on July 1 for North Carolina students.
