GERMANS DEMAND EU REFERENDUM

N.KOREA THREATENED ANNIHILATION OF US & S.KOREA OVER THAAD SITE

Warning comes after US and S Korea announce agreement to deploy advanced anti-missile defence system to counter threats.

North Korea's military has threatened to take "physical action" after the United States and South Korea announced that they would deploy a sophisticated missile defence system on the Korean peninsula.

Seoul and Washington said on Friday that the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) anti-missile system would be used to counter Pyongyang's growing nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.

"There will be physical response measures from us as soon as the location and time that the invasionary tool for US world supremacy, THAAD, will be brought into South Korea are confirmed," the North's military said in a statement on Monday.

"We once again warn the enemies that it is the steadfast will of the KPA [Korean People's Army] to make merciless retaliatory strikes to reduce South Korea to a sea in flames, debris once an order is issued."

The Dow And The S&P 500 Soar To Brand New All-Time Record Highs – How Is This Possible?

Stock Market Soaring - Public Domain
The Dow and the S&P 500 both closed at all-time record highs on Tuesday, and that is very good news.  You might think that is an odd statement coming from the publisher of The Economic Collapse Blog, but the truth is that I am not at all eager to see the financial system crash and burn.  We all saw what took place when it happened in 2008 – millions of people lost their jobs, millions of people lost their homes, and economic suffering was off the charts.  So no, I don’t want to see that happen again any time soon.  All of our lives will be a lot more comfortable if the financial markets are stable and stocks continue to go up.  If the Dow and the S&P 500 can keep on soaring, that will suit me just fine.  Unfortunately, I don’t think that is going to be what happens.
Of course I never imagined we would be talking about new record highs for the stock market in mid-July 2016.  We have seen some crazy ups and downs for the financial markets over the last 12 months, and the downs were pretty severe.  Last August, we witnessed the greatest financial shaking since the historic financial crisis of 2008, and that was followed by an even worse shaking in January and February.  Then in June everyone was concerned that the surprising result of the Brexit vote would cause global markets to tank, and that did happen briefly, but since then we have seen an unprecedented rally.
So what is causing this sudden surge?
We’ll get to that in a moment, but first let’s review some of the numbers from Tuesday.  The following comes from USA Today
All three major indexes gained 0.7% apiece, as the Dow jumped 121 points to a new all-time closing high and the S&P 500 built upon its record close notched Monday. The blue chips now stand at 18,347.67, about 35 points above the previous record set May 19, 2015.
The new mark for the S&P 500 is 2,152.14, a 15-point improvement on its Monday close.

Overall, we have seen stocks shoot up more than eight percent over the last two weeks.  Normally, a rise of 10 percent for an entire year is considered to be quite healthy
Interior Minister Theresa May is set to become the U.K.’s prime minister on Wednesday. Stock markets across the globe have risen sharply, after a steep sell-off, following the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union.
“In the past two weeks, post Brexit, the S&P 500 has vaulted over 8 percent,” said Adam Sarhan, CEO at Sarhan Capital. “Typically, a 10 percent move for the entire year is considered normal.”

What makes all of this even stranger is the fact that investors have been pulling money out of stocks as if it was 2008 all over again.  In fact, Zero Hedge tells us that on balance investors have been taking money out of equity funds for 17 weeks in a row.
So why are stocks still going up?
If your guess is “central bank intervention”, you are right on the nose.
Across the Pacific, the Bank of Japan has been voraciously gobbling up assets, and the architect of “Abenomics” just won a major electoral victory which has fueled a huge market rally over there…
Meanwhile, in Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ordered new stimulus after his coalition won an election in Japan’s upper chamber by a landslide. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose nearly 2.5 percent overnight, while the yen erased all of its post-Brexit gains against the dollar.
“In the short term, I think it’s going to help, but in the long term, we’ll see,” said JJ Kinahan, chief strategist at TD Ameritrade. “I feel like a lot of people are getting themselves into situations that they can’t get out of.”
I

n Europe, the ECB has feverishly been pumping money into the financial system, and the result of the Brexit vote seems to have lit a renewed fire under the central bankers in Europe.  Collectively, intervention by the Japanese and the Europeans has created “a surge in net global central bank asset purchases to their highest since 2013″
Fast forward six months when Matt King reports that “many clients have been asking for an update of our usual central bank liquidity metrics.”
What the update reveals is “a surge in net global central bank asset purchases to their highest since 2013.”
And just like that the mystery of who has been buying stocks as everyone else has been selling has been revealed.

So now you know the rest of the story.
The economic fundamentals have not changed.  China is still slowing down.  Japan is still mired in a multi-year economic crisis.  Much of Europe is still dealing with a full-blown banking crisis.  Much of South America is still experiencing a full-blown depression.
Here in the United States, just about every indicator that you can think of says that the economy is slowing down.  If you doubt this, please see my previous article entitled “15 Facts About The Imploding U.S. Economy That The Mainstream Media Doesn’t Want You To See“.
The artificially-induced rally that we are witnessing right now can be compared to a “last gasp” of a dying patient.
But my hope is that this “last gasp” can last for as long as possible.  Because as much as I warn people about it, I am not actually eager to see what comes next.
The economic and financial suffering that are coming are inevitable, but they are not going to be pleasant for any of us.  So let us all hope that we still have a little bit more time before the party is over and it is time to turn out the lights.

How the Pope Can Fulfill Islamic End-Times Prophecies

Islamic prophecies may eerily come to pass with Pope Francis at helm of the Catholic Church, says author Tom Hoorn.

Islam's Muhammad reportedly prophesied that the end-times would come about as the Islamic antichrist, the Mahdi, waged war against the armies of Rome.

But Rome isn't exactly a functioning military presence these days, so how would that work?

"If the pope calls for justification of just war from Roman Catholicism, they're going to see this army fighting under the banner of Rome," Hoorn tells Jim Bakker. "... They're going to see it as the literal fulfillment of their 1,600-year-old hadith."

The 10 delusional demands of political correctness you are required to accept

Political correctness, at its core, is an insidious demand that you dismiss the evidence you witness with your own eyes, replacing it with delusional, false narratives that have been shoved into your head by the conforming, obedient masses.

Political correctness means that if you are looking at red barn and 100 of your peers ridicule you while saying it's a BLUE barn, you must nod your head in agreement and surrender, "Yes, it's blue." Even when it's actually red. Political correctness is, essentially, a war on logic and reason. 2+2=5, Winston!

Political correctness is rooted in the demented notion that social memes now overrule physical and biological reality, requiring you to reject things that are real and replace them with beliefs that are fabricated out of thin air for political purposes. That this process now dominates modern society is proof that our world is run by the mentally ill... and that hoards of mentally ill obedient sheeple are more than happy to go along with the shared delusions that stem from such mental illness.

Truthfully, we are all now living in a time of mass mental illness, where 99 out of 100 people believe insane, untrue and impossible things that have been demanded of them by the ruling political puppet masters. In this article, I outline just 10 of the most dangerous delusions we are all now demanded to follow.

If you believe any of these things, you are clinically insane and probably need to have your head examined.

The ten delusional demands of political correctness

Demand #1) It is demanded that you agree Caitlyn Jenner is a woman, even though Caitlyn (Bruce) was born a man, has the biology of a man and has the DNA of a man. The only way anyone can say Caitlyn Jenner is a woman is if they are pressured to abandon common sense and surrender to the mass delusions of a society gone mad. "Yes, that barn is BLUE, by golly!"

For the record, let me state this as clearly as possible: Caitlyn Jenner is not a woman. He's a dude pretending to be a woman. The fact that Bruce Jenner won a "Woman of the Year" award is the height of stupidity and mass insanity in a culture gone off the deep end. (What, they couldn't find an ACTUAL woman deserving of the award? Seriously? There are no women in America who are a better than Bruce Jenner impersonating a woman? Gimmie a break...)

Demand #2) It is demanded that you support the illusion that gun laws will halt criminals from using guns to commit violence. The entire delusion hinges on the obviously false idea that people who routinely break the law will somehow magically abide by the law when you want them to. The existence of "gun free zone" signs further demonstrates the delusional thinking of those who ridiculously convince themselves that laws somehow restrict the actions of people who do not follow the law. (Liberalism is the art of being able to hold two wholly contradictory ideas in your head at the same time and somehow believe them both to be true...)

Demand #3) It is demanded that you agree the economy is in fantastic shape and that unemployment is barely six percent, even though you and everyone you know has trouble finding a job or keeping a decent job these days. While your own standard of living keeps eroding year after year, you are told that "everything is awesome!" by a delusional regime of money masters who are systematically stealing your income and wealth by printing their own money by the trillions.

Part of the P.C. employment delusion also demands that you reject the obvious truth that Obamacare's employer mandates have caused a wave of job destruction across America as employers shed full-time employees to avoid the crushing costs of a mandatory "sick care" system that's broken and fraudulent (and therefore unaffordable). Flatly stated, to be 100% politically correct on the issues of money and finance, you must believe that money materializes out of a parallel dimension and that real wealth can be created from nothing. (This is a key economic principle of "progressive economics" which always leads to Venezuela-style economic collapse, FYI.)

Demand #4) It is demanded that you operate under the illusion that only "progressives" have compassion for women and children while, at the same time, supporting the partial birth abortion organ harvesting of living children at abortion centers across the country. This act of harvesting organs from babies, of course, requires killing the babies in the process. You are demanded to affirm that no such thing ever takes place and to believe that all babies are "dead" until the moment they are fully born at which point they are suddenly "alive." Such a belief defies biological reality, logic and reason, yet it is a key platform of progressivism and P.C. delusion.

Seriously: Progressives believe that when just the head portion of a baby emerges from the birth canal, that baby isn't yet "alive" and therefore the head can be "harvested" for "scientific research" without violating any ethics or morals whatsoever. It is notable that when ISIS terrorists cut off the heads of people, it's called "terror." When abortionists cut off the heads of living babies, it's called "scientific research." This practice is wholly supported, funded and even encouraged by progressives who somehow tell themselves that the murder of fully developed, living babies is a "women's health" right. Huh?

Demand #5) It is demanded that you affirm Black Lives Matter is a "peaceful" movement even though a huge number of its activists routinely engage in mass violence, hate-filled rhetoric targeting whites and police officers, large-scale societal disruptions and now even give rise to murder against innocent people (such as Dallas police officers). If the exact same actions were being carried out by a group of white people, that group would have been labeled a "terrorist organization" or "hate group" by the entire media long ago.

Ridiculously, when the group is centered around black people, however, acts of arson, violence and mayhem are down-translated into "civil rights" or even "First Amendment rights." Hmmm... doesn't anybody recognize the bigotry that's inherently rooted in a separatist "black" movement which espouses hate speech and violence against white people based solely on their skin color? BLM's entire platform fits the classic definition of racism and bigotry. They are the KKK of modern, racist America that targets and vilifies whites as a deliberate strategy to assert power. BLM is, by its very definition, inherently racist and bigoted, focusing on separating the races instead of bringing people together under the umbrella of multicultural unity. (Proof of this is the fact that anyone who dares say "ALL lives matter" is immediately branded a racist bigot. Huh?)

Right now a WhiteHouse.gov petition is circulating to name BLM as a terrorist organization. The petition states:

Terrorism is defined as “the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims”. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. Black Lives Matter has earned this title due to its actions in Ferguson, Baltimore, and even at a Bernie Sanders rally, as well as all over the United States and Canada. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare Black Lives Matter a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.

Click here to sign the petition (which the White House will promptly ignore, of course, because Obama is the terrorist sympathizer-in-chief.

Demand #6) It is demanded that you agree police are never justified in shooting any black person at all, even if that black person was in the act of committing a violent crime or waving guns at police. Any time a police officer wins a fight with a black person, you must call it "police brutality." The only non-racist police officers are those who allow themselves to be shot by black criminals, thereby proving there were never racist in the first place.

It's kind of like the old witch hunt test, where you throw a suspected witch in the river and see if she floats. Since everybody believed that only witches could float, if the person floated, you burn them to death as a witch. If they sink to their death, then that proves they were innocent. Today, the war on police is nothing more than a racist witch hunt translated into the mentally ill language of "social justice."

The politically incorrect truth that needs to be stated is that black people are arrested more often by cops for the simple reason that black people are committing more violent crimes, explain black police officers in their own words. Check out the Facebook post of African-American police officer Jay Stalien:

Black Lives do not matter to most black people. Only the lives that make the national news matter to them. Only the lives that are taken at the hands of cops or white people, matter. The other thousands of lives lost, the other black souls that I along with every cop, have seen taken at the hands of other blacks, do not matter. Their deaths are unnoticed, accepted as the “norm”, and swept underneath the rug by the very people who claim and post “black lives matter”.

Complaint: Police always targeting us, they always messing with the black man.

Fact: A city where the majority of citizens are black (Baltimore for example) …will ALWAYS have a higher rate of black people getting arrested, it will ALWAYS have a higher rate of blacks getting stopped, and will ALWAYS have a higher rate of blacks getting killed, and the reason why is because a city with those characteristics will ALWAYS have a higher rate of blacks committing crime. The statistics will follow the same trend for Asians if you go to China, for Hispanics if you go to Puerto Rico, for whites if you go to Russia, and the list goes on. It’s called Demographics.

Demand #7) It is demanded that you embrace all illegal immigration as "compassionate" while strongly opposing national border security. You must welcome all illegals and grant them legal immunity in your sanctuary cities, even as illegals commit mass murder, rapes, robberies and lootings. You must dismiss the truth that illegal, uninsured drivers cause hundreds of accidents every single day across California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, injuring honest citizens and destroying their vehicles in the process.

Demand #8) It is demanded that you reject all voter I.D. laws as "racist" on the absurd basis that making sure people can only vote once in each election is somehow inherently bigoted or unfair -- even when it is technically a bedrock of democracy. While nearly every other country in the world requires voter identification at voting centers, you must agree with the P.C. puppet masters that such fundamental rules for democratic fairness are somehow "rooted in racism" and bigotry. (Let's face it: Preventing voter I.D. laws is actually all about making sure as many illegal aliens can vote as possible...)

Demand #9) It is demanded that you disregard the fact that Islamic terrorists who carry out mass murder on U.S. soil deliberately praise Allah (while the White House tries to censor the 911 phone calls to make sure you never hear those words). You must consider such acts to be "domestic terrorism," not acts of terror inspired by a radicalized religion that preaches hatred for gays and women.

Somehow, to fit into the P.C. culture in America today, you have to simultaneously worship gay people as well as the Islamic terrorists who murder gay people. How does that compute, exactly?

Demand #10) It is demanded that you believe all of society's problems would be solved if only government were bigger and individual liberties were replaced with government mandates. The P.C. nanny state requires you to believe, for example, that parents should not have any real parental rights. All children are owned by the State, we're told, and the State may decide to compel those children to be injected with mercury (flu shots) or killed with chemotherapy (cancer treatments) against the parents' will.

If you listen to the P.C. progressives, all their "solutions" sooner or later rest on their belief that people have too much freedom in America, and that taking away those freedoms is the best way to make society better. Right now, government is about one-third of the U.S. economy. This is apparently too small for the P.C. progressives who ultimately want 100% of the economy to be run by a centralized, incompetent, corrupt government. (The name for that, by the way, is Communism.) Free markets are based. Individual liberty is bad. Self-defense is bad. And of supreme importance is the idea that anyone who opposes totalitarian control by the government is obviously an anti-government whacko who needs to be silenced or marginalized.

Only government creates jobs, we're told. Only government generates wealth. Only government can uplift the lives of the very people that now suffer under horrifically bad government policies. "You didn't build that!" quips Obama, reminding us all that political correctness is deeply rooted in mass mental illness because none of these beliefs have a shred of truth to them. (Government cannot create actual wealth; it can only confiscate it, redistribute it or destroy it. Usually it excels at all three...)

Solutions for living as a rational person in a mentally ill society

If you're a rational, thinking person, then you already know you're living in a society largely populated by mentally ill people who believe one or more of the popular delusions described here. So what's the solution to all this?

Believe your own experience and refuse to give in to the delusional memes of the P.C. zombies. Remind yourself to stay rooted in reality. Do not be swayed against your own direct experience by the wishy washy narratives of the mentally ill. Spend more time in nature, where truth is evident with every foot step. The more contact you have with nature, the saner you will stay even as the world goes totally insane all around you.

In essence, all of us must now practice mental self-defense. We must defend our own minds from the twisted distortions, influence and psychological pollution of the P.C. zombies. This requires real dedication to clear thinking and the turning off of all mainstream media sources (which specialize in persuasively presenting false narratives as facts).

The more you read independent media, in other words, the saner you become as you cast off the false narratives and delusional lies of the P.C. culture. Rejecting political correctness is, in fact, an important first step in the art of mental self-defense. You must also reject the peer pressure from your lunatic friends and family members who often believe all ten of these P.C. falsehoods. Don't try arguing with them, however: They're probably too far gone to save with reason. It's best to move on and make new friends who are already awakened and aware of what's really going on.

Transgender Person Arrested For Taking Pictures Of Woman In Target Dressing Room

Idaho police arrested a man — who identifies as a transgender woman — on one count of felony voyeurism Tuesday after he took pictures of a woman while she was changing clothes in a Target dressing room, the Post Register reported.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 43-year-old Sean Patrick Smith, who reportedly identifies as Shauna Patricia Smith, the day after he was spotted reaching over the changing room wall with a cell phone taking pictures of a woman who was trying on clothes. The victim confronted Smith, who then ran out of the store.

The alleged incident took place on Monday. Authorities tracked down Smith after interviewing witnesses and reviewing security footage, local news stations reported. If convicted, Smith faces up to five years in prison.

Target announced in April that men who identify as women would be allowed to use the women’s facilities at the retail store. Soon after, a man recorded himself receiving permission from Target staff to use the women’s bathrooms after he explained that’s where he “feels comfortable.”

The Myth Of The "War On Terrorism"

Image result for The fake "War On Terrorism"

Remember We’re fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here”? That was the justification for the worldwide war on terrorism the Bush administration trumpeted in the early days of the post-9/11 era. Keeping in mind that the American people don’t really care about what goes on thousands of miles away, and that the purpose of our foreign policy is – ostensibly – to keep us safe here at home, the Bushies and their neocon Praetorian Guard always kept their focus on the threat that was supposedly hanging over our heads: another 9/11. As that Old Right prophet Garet Garrett put it some sixty years ago, US foreign policy was rationalized to the public with “a complex of vaunting and fear,” and this was the fear part.
But now we hear that the latest iteration of the Terrorist Threat – ISIS – is losing ground in Syria, its home base: some 12 percent of its territory has been lost to a combination of opponents, and the Caliphate, we’re told, is shrinking. So does that mean the Terrorist Threat is abating, and we can get back to living our lives?
Heck no!
As CNN reports:
“IHS [Information Handling Services] senior analyst Columb Strack says that ‘as the Islamic State’s caliphate shrinks and it becomes increasingly clear that its governance project is failing, the group is re-prioritizing insurgency."

“He told CNN: ‘As a result, we unfortunately expect an increase in mass casualty attacks and sabotage of economic infrastructure, across Iraq and Syria, and further afield, including Europe.’

“In other words, ISIS is going to become a more ‘traditional’ terror group, boasting of its international reach to attract recruits and bolster morale as it loses ground in Iraq and Syria.”
So let’s see if I have this straight: we fought them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here, but now that we’re winning over there they’re coming over there.
Got that?
This preposterous shell game is becoming so transparently phony that not even the “experts” and government officials pushing it can possibly believe it.
In reality, the “war on terrorism” had nothing to do with protecting the American people from harm: it was always all about projecting US power as far as possible and effecting “regime change” throughout the Middle East. And not only there …
The real regime change came about right here in the good ol’ US of A: a system of universal surveillance was instituted as the “Patriot” Act was passed by a Congress that never bothered to read it. The police were militarized – after all, the Bad Guys were about to launch an attack on Peoria, or wherever, and we had to be ready. The banks were forced to report all “suspicious” transactions, and if you bought a pressure cooker your name went on a list of “terror suspects.” This was followed, more recently, by an attack by the Left on the Second Amendment: if your name is on a “terrorist watch list,” or the mysterious “no fly list,” the Nanny State would prevent you from getting your hands on a gun – and screw the Constitution.
Regime change at home and abroad – that’s the real point of the “war on terrorism.” The idea was and is to overthrow not only whatever government dares to get in the War Party’s way, but also to overthrow the Constitution and the rule of law in the United States. A real double-header!
In fact, our “strategy” empowers what might have been marginal terrorist groups, and seems almost designed to do so. We attacked Iraq, and created a power vacuum which al-Qaeda and ISIS filled: then we aligned with “moderate” jihadists in Syria in order to overthrow Bashar al-Assad and drain off support from ISIS. Instead we accomplished exactly the opposite of our intended goal: the “moderates” defected to ISIS and al-Qaeda, and the “Caliphate” grew in size and stature. Thousands of Muslims flocked to the region to fight the latest holy war. So we essentially re-invaded Iraq – Obama just sent in more troops, with more to come – and retook 12 percent of their territory. And now they’re spreading into Europe – and trying to reach the US, as they did in San Bernardino and Orlando.
ISIS split off from al-Qaeda over a strategic issue: where to concentrate their forces. The original strategic vision of Osama bin Laden was to go after the “far enemy” – that is, to hit America – and wait until going for their ultimate goal: the creation of a global “Caliphate.” ISIS disagreed with this gradualism, and determined that it was time to establish the Caliphate here and now. The advantages of this strategy were twofold: 1) It would show that they could actually govern, and that their program wasn’t just a nihilistic vision of destruction for its own sake, and 2) The Caliphate would attract foreign fighters in sufficient numbers to fight the infidels and win.
Like all successful revolutionaries, the leadership of ISIS employs an entrepreneurial strategic and tactical flexibility while never losing sight of its ultimate goal. So while the Caliphate may be losing territory at the moment, it is extending its reach to make the enemy pay a high price – and attracting more recruits in the process.
The idea that we can stamp out these terrorist outfits by going on the offensive in distant Syria, or wherever – denying them “safe havens” – is a delusion that never seems to die. That’s because the delusion serves the domestic interests of our rulers so well.
The “nations” of the Middle East were never real entities to begin with: the borders of Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and the Gulf states were determined by the European colonialists who carved up the remnants of the old Ottoman empire to suit their own purposes. And when these “nations” achieved “independence,” they did not suddenly become more real. What is happening today is the shakeout of competing factions along religious and ethnic lines: the Sunnis, the Shi’ites, the Kurds, etc. etc. are all asserting their right to self-determination. When ISIS demolished the flimsy barrier that separated Syria from Iraq, and proclaimed the abolition of the Sykes-Picot agreement, they were expressing their contempt for the post-World War I order imposed by the West – an order that is dying a bloody and chaotic death in spite of our futile efforts to preserve it.
So what’s the solution?
Terrorist attacks on the West won’t stop any time soon, no matter what we do or don’t do. Too much blood has been spilled, and the dead cry out for vengeance. We can’t undo the invasion of Iraq – the single most destructive act in the modern history of the Middle East – but we can stop making the same mistake unto eternity. As I’ve written before, we should quarantine the entire region. Stop intervening, and let the religious fanatics who are making the region a killing field stew in their own poisonous juices. Stop supporting the Saudis – the main agitators of jihadism; stop supporting Israel: stop supporting the Iraqi “government”; stop sending in troops – and concentrate our limited resources on making sure the terrorists don’t make it to the continental United States.
And if this be “isolationism,” then let the War Party make the most of it. Because the American people are done with global crusading. Enough is enough: let them kill each other if that’s what they’re intent on doing. Let’s just make sure that they aren’t killing us.

Long-Term Survival Foods and Supplies

what kinds of survival foods can you find at your local supermarket?

Proteins
Let’s start with sources of protein, since those are usually the hardest to get. You can find:

Jerky – can be reconstituted for use in soups, or just eaten as is
Canned chicken
Canned tuna and salmon
Canned beef – available as shredded beef, stew meat or chili
Other canned meats – there’s lots to choose from, including Spam and Vienna sausages
Peanut butter – not only a good source of protein, but a great comfort food too
Beans – there are lots of kinds of beans at your local supermarket. Stock up on pinto beans (Mexican style), kidney beans (for making chili) and lentils (great for soup. You can also find other types of beans, such as lima beans, black-eye peas and garbanzo beans. While you may not be used to eating all these, they all work out well in soups.
Nuts – all nuts are good sources of protein, as well as the good type of cholesterol. Here are 10 Foods Not to Store.
Canned Goods
We’ve already talked about canned meats, but there are a wealth of other canned goods you can find at the grocery store. One of the best things about canned goods, is that they will keep forever. You can forget about the expiration date on most canned goods and keep them for 20 years or more. The only exception is those things that are “canned” in plastic jars (metal cans and glass jars are great). Those aren’t actually canned and will go bad with time.

One of the major things to buy canned is vegetables. A true survival diet doesn’t usually contain those. But that’s only intended for short-term consumption. If you’re going to end up living off your food stockpile for more than a month, you’ll need the micro-nutrients that we get out of fruits and vegetables.
Vegetables of all types – necessary for the micro-nutrients they provide. Also provide a fair amount of carbohydrates for energy
Canned fruit – like vegetables, an excellent source of both micro-nutrients and carbohydrates. They also have a fair amount of sugar in them, which is something you’re going to find that you crave in a survival situation
Soups – While stockpiling soups isn’t a very efficient way of using space, some soups are very useful for use in other recipes, such as cream of celery and chicken broth.
Tomato paste – this is a universally useful ingredient for lots of different types of foods. You’ll need spices to go with it, but with the right spices, tomato paste can become either spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce or chili base.
Spaghetti sauce – It’s amazing how many things taste like spaghetti, if you just cover them with spaghetti sauce. Can’t get your kids to eat eggplant? Just bread it, fry it and douse it in spaghetti sauce. You’ll have them eating it in no time.
Bullion – beef and chicken bullion are essential as soup starters. In a survival situation, where you are trying to make do with what you have, soup may become a rather common staple on your table. Having bullion to start with will make a much more tasty soup.
Condiments of all sorts – If your family is like most, your kids love ketchup. Like spaghetti sauce, covering things with ketchup is a great way to get kids to eat it. For that matter, ranch salad dressing works pretty well too. Stocking up on condiments will reduce complaining and get your family to eat what you serve them.
Jams & jellies – While not really a necessary survival food, if you’re going to have peanut butter in your stash, better put some jelly with it.

Dry Foods

he biggest portion of most people’s food stockpile is actually dry foods. That’s because they pack the most bang for the buck. We’re used to eating a diet which consists of about 40% carbohydrates, which come from those dry foods. Fortunately, they are easily adapted to survival situations.
Hard Red Wheat – whole-grain, unground wheat will keep much better than ground wheat. So, you’re better off buying it like that. Of course, that means buying a grinder as well, so that you can grind it when you need to use it. In addition to the red wheat, consider:
Spelt
Millet
Barley
Rye
Quinoa
Rolled oats

All of these grains can be used for baking a variety of foods, as well as using them for side-dishes. Add to them:
Pasta (of various shapes and sizes) – so much can be done with pasta, from everyday spaghetti to soups, casseroles and a host of Italian dishes
Cornmeal – cornbread anyone?

Of course, if you’re going to do any baking with those, you’ll need to be sure to have the baking supplies to use:
Baking soda
Baking powder
Sugar – not only for baking, but for sweetening drinks. Sugar becomes very valuable in times of crisis
Powdered milk – nobody likes drinking powdered milk, but it’s great for baking with
Powdered eggs – like the powdered milk, think of it more for baking, than for eating as eggs
Vinegar, especially apple cider vinegar – great for more than just cooking
Other Important Foods
While those are the major categories of foods you’ll want to stockpile for survival. There are a number of other things you should consider; such as:
Coffee – especially if you don’t function well without it
Honey – will literally last forever, if kept unopened
Spices – your family will probably end up eating a lot of things they are not used to. You can make those strange foods taste a lot more palatable by having a good stock of spices, especially your family’s favorites, whatever they are
Salt – not only necessary for survival, but also the number one food preservative in the world. Stock up plenty, as you’ll need it
Cooking oil – you might want more than one type here, not just your standard canola oil or vegetable oil. Some oils, like coconut oil have longer shelf lives and have been found to have medicinal qualities
Dry fruit – goes well as an alternate for the canned fruit, especially when you have to carry it with you
Hard candies – great treats for kids of all ages. Hard candies, unlike other types of candy, won’t spoil with time. If kept dry and ants are kept out of them, they last virtually forever
Water
One of your biggest needs, and hardest to store enough of, is water. The normal rule of thumb is one gallon per person per day of purified water, just for drinking and cooking. That doesn’t take into account what you’ll need for cleaning, bathing and watering your garden. There’s no way you can store enough water to meet all your needs, but you should try to store as much as you can.
More Than Just Food
That list should take pretty good care of your food needs. But you have many other needs too. Fortunately, the local grocery store is a great place to find many of these things as well:

Let’s start with things you’re going to need for your home:
Toilet paper – uh, this one’s obvious
Disposable lighters – the easiest fire starter around
Wooden matches – the second easiest fire starter around
Cotton balls and petroleum jelly – work some of the petroleum jelly into the cotton balls to make one of the most effective and cheapest fire accelerants available
Charcoal lighter fluid
Charcoal – you might end up cooking on the grille a lot
Pest killers – they will literally be coming out of the woodwork
Cleaning supplies – the best way to keep the pests out, is keep your home clean

Then there’s stuff to take care of yourself:
Soap – lots of soap, including anti-bacterial hand cleaner
Personal hygiene supplies – please!
Feminine hygiene supplies – if you want peace in the home…Over-the-counter medicines – to take care of sniffles, upset stomachs and the like
First-aid supplies – injuries happen, in the wake of a disaster, you can count on a lot of them happening; more than normal
Vitamins – if you’re not eating right, this could help keep you healthy

But some things just don’t fit in a category:
Candles – if the lights are out, you’re going to need to see
Batteries, for flashlights and other portable electronics
Aluminum foil – for cooking with, buy the heavy-duty kind
Plastic bags in various sizes – useful for a host of different things
Canning jars and lots of lids – hopefully you’ll be growing food in your garden. Being able to can what you grow will be an important part of your ongoing diet
Alcoholic beverages – great for medicinal purposes, as trade goods, as well as the more common use
Bleach – can be used for cleaning, as well as purifying water. Eight drops is enough to purify a gallon of water
A Note About Food Storage
I’ve already mentioned that canned goods will keep virtually indefinitely, without anything else being done to them. But those are about the only foods you can buy in the grocery store, which are packed for long-term storage. Everything else is packaged with the intent that you will consume it within a few days or weeks.

But you’re going to need to make your food last much longer than that, especially if you want to use it as your survival stockpile. Fortunately, there are ways of doing that. Of course, wet foods can be canned; but you’ve got to do something else with dry foods.

You’ll need:
Five gallon “food grade” buckets, with lids
Six gallon Mylar bags
Oxygen absorbers
Vacuum cleaner with a hose
Hair straightener
Magic marker
Rubber mallet

Please note that you won’t be able to find these items at your local grocery store. You can buy the food grade five gallon buckets at the big home improvement centers. But the Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers will have to be purchased online. Just do a search for oxygen absorbers and you should find several suppliers.

This is a fairly simple procedure, which is best done with bulk foods. After all, we’re talking about filling five gallon buckets with it. If you decide to do smaller quantities, you can buy smaller Mylar bags and put several of them together in one bucket.

It is best to have some help when doing this. The oxygen absorbers are very fast acting. So if you don’t close up the packages quickly, they’ll just absorb oxygen out of the air, rather than the air in the buckets. That won’t do you any good at all.

To package the food:Place the six gallon Mylar bags, open, in the five gallon buckets.
Fill them with appropriate dry food, one type per bag. Leave about one inch of space at the top of the bucket.
Mark the outside of the bucket, in several places, with the contents.
Using the hair straightener, seal the top of the bag, leaving only enough unsealed to fit the vacuum cleaner hose in.
Place a oxygen absorber in the bag, through the opening. From this point, you need to work rapidly.
Suck out the air from the bag with the vacuum cleaner. Don’t put it into the bag far enough that it sucks out the food; just put it barely in the opening.
Seal off the opening with the hair straightener.
Fold the top of the bag down and place the lid on the bucket. Use the rubber mallet to seat the lid on its seal.

These buckets should be stored in a cool, dry place. Most dry foods, including everything mentioned above, will keep for about 20 years, if stored like this.

China calls on US to cease THAAD deployment in South Korea

China has reaffirmed its strong opposition to the US deployment of an advanced missile system in neighboring South Korea, warning that Beijing would take necessary steps to protect its interests.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said at a press conference on Wednesday that the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system in South Korea jeopardizes regional stability.
"With THAAD, the US and South Korea seriously destroyed the local regional stability and seriously damaged the strategic interests of countries in the region, including those of China,” the Chinese official said.
He called on Washington and Seoul to cease the project.
“We have already said that we resolutely oppose the US and South Korea's deployment of the THAAD system, and we're intensely calling upon the US and South Korea to cease the (deployment) process,” the Chinese official stated.
"China will resolutely take the necessary steps to protect our reasonable interests," Lu added, without elaborating.
On Friday, the United States and South Korea said they had made a final decision to deploy the missile system in the South, claiming it will only be used in defense against what they called North Korean threats.

China, which shares a border with North Korea, has been voicing its opposition to the deployment of the system for months, warning it would destabilize regional security.
Washington and Seoul began intense consultations on THAAD after North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test in January, which was followed by a satellite launch and a string of test-launches of various missiles.
According to the South Korean Defense Ministry, the US missile system will be deployed in the southeastern county of Seongju to maximize its effectiveness while minimizing any impact on residents and the environment. The ministry has also said it aims to have the system operational by the end of 2017.
The deployment has sparked protests from residents, including those of Seongju, located 296 kilometers southeast of the capital, Seoul.

Meanwhile, Russia has also voiced opposition to the plan, saying the missile system tends to undermine stability in the region and “most negatively affect global strategic stability.”
North Korea's military has also threatened to take "physical action" in response to the deployment of the missile system on the Korean peninsula.
THAAD has been designed to intercept ballistic missiles inside or just outside the atmosphere during their final phase of flight.
