Holiness

Holy means set apart for God,
But for the most technical, the definitions can be found in some dictionaries are:
When something is important and deserves respect
Cambridge dictionary
State or quality of life and character saint
The maximum of importance or inviobilidad
Webster
All these deficiniciones can make a very good figure as it should be God in my life and leads to questions:
Is God something be extensive and deserves respect or is a subject that is being discussed in meetings with colloquial and even on absurd names?
Would you accept me to make fun of my wife or my children?? The question then is why do I agree that jokes about God? being that is truly important and deserves respect.
Psalm 29:2
Give unto the Lord the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
My life has a quality of life sacred? Is it GOD maximum importance or sanctity?
Consider an underground bunker at a military base, it sounds impossible to penetrate, can not even get to see him from afar before a guard comes and tells us we have to leave the place, sounds like an important place right?
Is God so important to me? Shelter my heart "that way in everything related to God?
The name of God should be like a bunker and our hearts too!
A heart apart to God and is protected by perimeter security, if someone gets through the first circle of the other security will prevent the attacker from reaching the heart.
However there are times when it seems that God was devalued as a currency of any third world country, lost quality, relevance lost, lost purchasing power!
This devalued in our hearts, this devalued in our standards, this devalued the importance we place and the respect you have.
Both media have bombarded us with the garbage that we offer or the philosophies that we teach that we have swallowed all the trends that we send through movies, fashion, toys etc and we can not question anything ...
They can put a devil in a movie and if looks "sweet"  we buy shirts, people line up from one day before to have a Ipad but can not cover 10 minutes reading the Bible.
Our young people have sex without thinking if that offends God but within it are aware that something is not right.
The parents are on holiday or working, and our children are alone seeing any poison on television or the neighbor.
The pulpits are too busy entertaining people or offering added prosperity and agreed that reason there are churches.
And the last thing holy seems or appears to be outdated.

The Bible says (Queen - Valera) with respect to the holiness of God:
Exodus 15:11
Who is like You, oh Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Holiness is a quality intricate God, His creation, His miracles and plans established for humanity since its creation are simply wonderful!
Psalm 89:35
34 My covenant,
Or moving out what has gone out of my lips.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness,
I will not lie to David.
36 His seed shall endure forever,
And his throne as the sun before me.
It is so perfect and valuable than God can swear by it.

Psalm 110:3
2 Sion Lord shall send the rod of thy power;
Dominates in the midst of your enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power,
In the beauty of holiness.
From the womb of the morning
Thou hast the dew of your youth.
4 Lord has sworn and will not repent
You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.
His Holiness is something beautiful in which should delight us, and that holiness should be something to look forward.

Isaiah 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy, and with a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and revive the heart of the contrite.
It is interesting to see how the word does not say I live in palaces or height and height and beauty, says high and holy, the 100 features could be used more to describe the sky, but instead he uses Holy
God deserves glory and honor, he invites us to bow down to him but in holiness and tells us to fear his presence, but invites us to that holy fear, the awe, as we face the creator of the world, king of universe, unique, wonderful and powerful!
1 Chronicles 16:29
28 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
Give the Lord glory and power.
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering and come before him;
Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
30 Fear before him, all the earth;
The world will be stable, not moved.

Psalm 30:4
Sing unto the Lord, ye his saints, and at the remembrance of his holiness.
God invites us to celebrate the memory of his holiness, but I wonder now how can we celebrate something we do not remember? How do we celebrate something we do not talk? Who remembers? Who knows? longs Who?
Zechariah 8:3
Thus saith the LORD: I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.
GOD this is a place where holiness is intricately linked to its essence, as our mind is where our body.
Just as important as the Bible says about our holiness:
We have a Pope that comes to accept Christ into our lives because we are made holy by the blood of Jesus, but is expected to increase holiness gradually gained in our Christian walk.
Ephesians 5:26
25 Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it,
26 to sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word
27 to present it to himself a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and blameless.
Initially we have been made through Jesus wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption as Corinthians says:
1 Corinthians 1:30
29 so that no one should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, justification, sanctification and redemption;
31 that, as it is written: The one who boasts, boast in the Lord
We now have the option to participate in the holiness of God through obedience

Hebrews 12:10
9 Moreover, we have had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Why not much rather be the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but for our purposes it is helpful to share in His holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
And God is clear and invites us to follow and also warns us that without holiness no one will see, and that is where holiness is activated progressively as we practice
in the same way that it is expected that our Christian walk will bear fruit.
Hebrews 12:14
"Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which, one will see the Lord"
If we decide to walk in holiness, we can afford to be clumsy, but God intelligent enough to not allow us to go astray, so we can see that achieving the devil has destroyed the sanctity of our lives and made us forget the holiness of God and thus drew us into perdition.
Isaiah 35:8
7 The parched ground shall become a pool, the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of jackals, in his lair, will be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 And there will be road and path, and be called the Way of Holiness unclean shall not pass him, but he himself will be with them, he who walks the road, though fools, shall not err therein.
9 No lion shall be there, nor beast shall go up for it, nor will there be found so ravenous.
But it's our choice which we live in holiness and that impica Descher including lying, abound in love, that we move away from fornication and sin.
Ephesians 4:24
23 and renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and put on the new self, created according to God in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

1 Thessalonians 3:13
12 And the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do toward you:
13 so that may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
1 Thessalonians 4:4
for the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
4 that each one of you know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor;
5 not in passionate lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
God wants our holiness turning from sin

It is not given condoms how we can prevent disease or pregnancy.
Not tolerating sin in the congregation is how people will feel loved.
It is entertaining to those who do not know Christ as we get people closer to God constantly.
It is not tolerant as we will be light in our workplaces.
We will be able to accomplish everything through holy living!
God does not want spoilid, he wants Holiness.
So the next time we stand in witness of holiness and is defending the inviolability of the name of God or fighting temptations remember that God is more powerful to support and that sanctity should be our home.
Psalm 93:5
4 Lord on high is mightier
The noise of many waters
Rather than the stout waves of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure
Holiness befits your house,
Oh Lord, for ever and ever.
In Jesus Christ

At least 18 said killed as Syrian forces in tanks, APCs fire on protesters

Syrian President Bashar Assad's security forces opened fire on pro-democracy protesters across the country Monday, reportedly killing 13 in the coastal town of Jabla and another five in the southern town of Daraa.

Security forces backed by armored vehicles entered Daraa overnight and opened fire, a resident told Al Jazeera television Monday. Eight tanks were deployed in the old quarter of Daraa, a witness said, adding that several bodies were lying in the main street.

A witness in Daraa said snipers on government buildings and security forces in army fatigues had been shooting at random at houses since tanks moved in just after dawn prayers.

"People are taking cover in homes. I could see two bodies near the mosque and no one was able to go out and drag them away," the witness said.

Activists on social media posted footage of what they said were troops firing early Monday throughout Daraa. The sound of heavy gunfire punctuates the footage, as well as the labored, frightened breathing of the activist filming the footage.

The activist repeats the date, the location and says: "The army forces are entering Daraa. They are shelling the city of Daraa."

The video could not be independently verified and all witnesses spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals. Syria has banned nearly all foreign media and restricted access to trouble spots since the uprising began, making it nearly impossible to get accurate assessments of the situation on the ground.

Syria forces appear to planning a major security operation, closing off all Syrian land border crossings with neighboring Jordan on Monday.

A senior diplomat in the Jordanian capital confirmed that the two main Syrian crossings at Daraa and Nassib on the Syrian side were closed to traffic.

An official told Reuters the "timing is related to what appears to be a major security operation that is taking place right now".

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Monday that pro-Assad forces shot dead at least 13 civilians Jabla.

The security forces and gunmen loyal to Assad deployed in the old Sunni quarter of Jabla on Sunday after a pro-democracy protest in the town the previous night, rights campaigners in contact with Jabla said.

A human rights campaigner reported that Syrian forces were continuing a brutal crackdown Monday, storming the Damascus suburb of Duma, shooting at unarmed civilians and arresting residents.

Civilians had been wounded in the shooting, an activist said.

$6 Gas? Could Happen if Dollar Keeps Getting Weaker

A dollar plumbing three-year lows is hitting Americans squarely in the gas tank, and one economist thinks it could drive prices as high as $6 a gallon or more by summertime under the right conditions.

With the greenback coming under increased pressure from Federal Reserve policies and investor appetite for more risk, there seems little direction but up for commodity prices, in particular energy and metals.

Weakness in the US currency feeds upward pressure on commodities, which are priced in dollars and thus come at a discount on the foreign markets.

One result has been a surge higher in gasoline prices to nearly $4 a gallon before the summer driving season even starts, a trend that economists say will be aggravated as demand increases and the summer storm season threatens to disrupt oil supplies.

"All we have to have is a couple badly placed hurricanes which could constrain some of the refinery output capacity in some key locations," says Richard Hastings, strategist at Global Hunter Securities in Charlotte, N.C. "If you get weakness in the dollar concurrent with the strong driving season concurrent with the impact of one or two hurricanes in the wrong place, prices could go up in a quasi-exponential manner."

Using a model that combines "subtle rates of change" with movements in the dollar index [.DXY 73.99 -0.38 (-0.51%) ]and commodity prices, Hastings figures the low dollar is responsible for about one-third, or $1.31, of the total gas-at-the-pump cost. Regular unleaded Wednesday was $3.84 a gallon nationwide, according to AAA.

While there's far from unanimity about the dollar's future course, the proportionate contribution that currency weakness makes to oil prices is clear.

The dollar as measured against a basket of foreign currencies has dropped 6 percent this year, while regular unleaded gasoline is up about 28 percent.

Gas prices also have been boosted from turmoil in the Middle East which in turn has triggered a wave of speculation that traders estimate has added about $15 or so to the cost of a barrel of crude [CLCV1 111.90 0.45 (+0.4%) ], which is now teetering above the $110 mark.

Hastings sees gasoline having "no problem" getting to $6.50 a gallon over the summer after increased demand and storm disruptions come into play.

''Bloodbath' would follow overthrow of Assad in Syria'

Observers tell the 'Post' that like Iraq, Syria’s diverse sects could turn on each other once the regime is gone.
he overthrow of Syrian dictator Basher Assad is not yet imminent, but should it occur, a bloodbath between Syria’s various sects would likely follow, leading Israeli experts on Syria told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

As in neighboring Iraq, Syria’s diverse population – made up of Sunni Muslims, Druse, Kurds and other groups, who are ruled by the minority Alawites – could, upon the collapse of the Assad regime, turn on each other in a bloody civil conflict.

“I think there would be a bloodbath if Assad falls. The Iraqi situation is relevant,” said Eyal Zisser, a professor of Middle Eastern and African History at Tel Aviv University.

Zisser, who formerly headed the university’s Moshe Dayan Center Middle East think tankadded, “We’re not there yet. The protests are however getting bigger, and more and more forces are joining in. They are spreading to other parts of the country.”

At the same time, around half of the Syrian population, concentrated in the major urban centers of Damascus and Aleppo, are “sitting on the fence” and not taking an active part in protests calling for Assad to leave.

“They are frightened of the unknown, and of the anarchy that could follow,” Zisser added.

Asked how important a role Islamist groups were playing in recent events, Zisser said, “We must remember that 40 percent of Syrians are members of minority groups. This means it is not easy for Islamists to take over. They are there as a political force, but they don’t have exclusive control.”

How low can U.S. dollar go?

The Canadian dollar soared above US$1.05 for the first time since November 2007 on Wednesday, but the loonie’s rise was really a story of U.S. dollar weakness — a weakness that left economists wondering how much lower the greenback could go.
The American dollar’s retreat came largely as investors continue to gain more of a risk appetite and gravitate toward equities and commodities. Strong earnings results from tech giants IBM Corp. and Intel Inc. on Tuesday night helped feed the appetite for stocks, while continuing strength in oil and gold continues to draw investor cash.
One thing is for certain: the weakness in the greenback has certainly outstripped most expectations, leaving many questioning how much lower can it go. We asked three currency strategists about their thoughts on what happens next.
Camilla Sutton, chief currency strategist, Scotia Capital
  • Scotia Capital expects the U.S. dollar to close this year at an even lower level than it is currently at and find new lows next year.
  • Scotia’s forecast for the U.S. dollar — currently trading at 0.9535 (US1.0488) against the CAD — is for the greenback to test the USD-CAD all-time low of 0.9058 ($1.104) later this year.
  • The real test will come as U.S. monetary policy and fiscal policy continues to weigh on the U.S. dollar, and traders continue to sate their appetites for more risk, said Ms. Sutton.
  • Scotia Capital currently has a year end forecast of US$1.05 for the Canadian dollar, and next year expects the loonie to close at US$1.09. ”All in all, we consider ourselves U.S. dollar bearish,” Ms. Sutton said.

David Watt, senior currency strategist and vice president, RBC Capital Markets
  • RBC Capital Markets’ forecast is for the U.S. dollar to bottom out at 0.95 against the Canadian dollar this year.
  • Mr. Watt cautions that the U.S. dollar has been weaker than expected, and there is a chance for a revision of that forecast. “Going forward I’m not sure whether we are going to revise dramatically the U.S. dollar forecast — if we do revise our forecast, it would be against all currencies, and we would probably put the USD-CAD forecast below 94¢ (US$1.064).”
  • The next catalyst for a potentially lower U.S. dollar is the debate on the country’s debt ceiling, said Mr. Watt.
  • ”The debate that they had over the government shut down got a lot of market attention, but it was really an irrelevant issue — the debt limit debate is more important and the long-term sustainability of the fiscal situation in the U.S. is of supreme importance,” he said.
  • RBC Capital Markets does not expect the U.S. to default on its debt, but Mr. Watt said that if the government pushes the debt ceiling debate till the last minute, “there is certainly going to be heightened concern that they might not deal with the longer term issue either.”
Shaun Osborne, chief FX strategist, TD Securities
  • TD Securities’ Shaun Osborne expects the U.S. dollar to trade around 0.96 ($1.0417) against the Canadian dollar through the second half of this year.
  • TD Securities is currently forecasting for the U.S. Federal Reserve to start tightening interest rates in the early part of 2012.
  • Once that occurs, the U.S. dollar will likely stabilize, and even potentially start gaining slightly against the CAD.
  • Given concerns over the U.S. fiscal situation, uncertainty could drive the U.S. dollar lower than it is now. “We underestimated the dollar’s ability to disappoint quite considerably this year, so the risk of more disappointments, more weaknesses, is certainly there,” Mr. Osborne said.
